Trade-in "deals" are not really "deals" though... 😓
Last year AT&T scammed my family out of $1000 after we traded in a perfect condition iPhone 8 Plus and they made up 3 different excuses and gave us $25 instead of what was promised with no recourse. Even with proof the phone was perfect (took videos before sending) and hours on the phone. And we weren’t the only ones, AT&T forums are packed with people like me complaining about the same thing. Maybe it’ll go class action. Save yourself the headaches and never, ever do one of these trade ins with AT&T - just don’t do business with them at all.
Yeah... The post office was backed up here in nowhereville so I didn't even get my mail-in kit until a month after it was too late. I tried going to an AT&T store (before the offer expired) and they said they couldn't trade the phones in there, but assured me I would have extra time and a new trade-in kit was on the way.Last year AT&T scammed my family out of $1000 after we traded in a perfect condition iPhone 8 Plus and they made up 3 different excuses and gave us $25 instead of what was promised with no recourse. Yeah, I'm on a grandfathered Simple Choice plan for 6 lines and there's no way I'm switching to one of their more expensive plans. Trade-in directly with Apple it is.The T-Mobile deal where you get $500 in bill credits requires you to switch to one of their new Magenta Max plans, which would be a significantly ****** deal for long time customers. Right now I pay $120/mo for four lines with unlimited everything including tethering. No thanks! I'll just buy it outright from Apple.
As a person who worked in the wireless phone industry for years I can tell you first hand the hardware does not make the cellular carriers any money. The activation of a new line of service does.
Make your 12 payments and you can upgrade whenever you want. So, does anybody have any info on iPhone upgrade program? Last year I went to the Pro Max and had to wait to November because of the COVID delay. Are they going to let us back on the normal schedule this year instead of waiting the extra 2 months?
Sadly yes. Trade-ins, activations of new service/line and upgrades to unlimited plans are the deals. So most likely no deal on just the iphone itself..they either want a trade in for a previous model of iphone or to add a new line
It's been, like, 3 hours. What I dont understand is when I go to Verizon's site, there is literally no mention of the iPhone 13 yet.
yeah I guess I just expected a company like verizon to have all the info they needed prior and for that site to refresh the second the keynote ended...It's been, like, 3 hours.

Agree'd usually a day or two after they go live is the problem so you never really know when you will get the phone.Would be nice if Walmart did their $200 deal again. No trades. No unlimited
Or $200 if you stay with your current plan?Be careful on T-Mobile upgrade program. They make you switch to a different plan. So if you are grandfathered in on an older plan you’d have to switch to get the full rebate.
Yep, trade in requires their monthly payments best I can tell. They're offering less than Apple as well on trade in value.I prefer to pay for my phone outright but Verizon’s trade in-offer only seems offer the option of making monthly payments. I guess this the usual bait and switch method for locking you into a contract.

No this isn’t your fault. AT&T loves to play these games. It’s company policy top to bottom snd they often get away with it.Yeah... Anyway, long story short, that was a lie and they refused to accept the trade-in. So now I'm paying for a bunch of iPhone 12's.
Maybe the moral of the story is about greed? I didn't need or even want a new phone, but you can't beat free (I thought) so I upgraded ALL the phones! Here we are now.
