My hand was in quite some pain within seconds of trying that mouse out in the Apple store, maybe I'm just too used to my huge bulky gaming mouse.

That should be extended to iPhone, iPad, and MBA ...

would be nice to have a induction charger for iPhone where it rest over the day; but quick released when I want to make a call. And sync via WiFi/BT

What they should have done is make it bigger in the shape of a mouse pad. So the mouse is always charging.

Wowww, as someone who literally just replaced my Magic Mouse batteries ten minutes ago (how the hell do they die so quickly?) I need that inductive charger!

Wireless Magic Mouse: $69
USB Magic Charger: €49

USB Mouse: $10 perhaps? But seriously, it makes a wireless mouse pointless.

Are you dumb? This makes a wireless mouse PERFECT. The biggest flaw most people will say about their wireless mouse is they hate changing the batteries. This technology completely eliminates that problems, forever.

Unfortanetly for me, I have a logitech wireless mouse, so this does me no good. Still quite an exciting look into future technologies.

Why bother charging anything? Just use the induction to power the mouse directly.

Someone else mentioned a desk. Same thing. Pile your mouse, keyboard and magic track pad onto the top of your desk and done.

No batteries. Wireless power.

Love the Magic Mouse - this charger will be perfect. It can sit somewhere out of the way on my desk and charge the mouse at night but I still have the freedom of wireless mouse :)

I like the idea of making a bigger charging pad and add a charging case to the iPhone so that I can place my iPhone there (or maybe while using the mouse I put it there). Would love to charge my phone without even connecting it - I know, it takes only a second or two to connect, still, would be cool and convenient. There are already cases like that for the iPhone, but they are too bulky (at least a couple of years ago - didn't check recently)

a good USB mouse is well over $10. of course, the Magic Mouse isn't a good mouse, but you still have to pay for the multi-touch.

Did you try it out while sitting as you would on your desk or just standing on the counter? I think the the magic mouse is the best mouse I ever used in my way too many years I am willing to admit using computers (win and mac) - but than, everybody has different preferences and of course different shaped/sized hands ...

The magic charger is very cool, I like the Magic Mouse, especially since Lion is going to REALLY start to utilize Multi-Touch. My problem with Apple peripherals though, is that they are sub-standard and over-priced. I have a $20 keyboard/mouse kit that's wireless (not Bluetooth though) that use 1 triple A battery in each device (the keyboard and mouse) and both last for months before replacing the batteries. For the cost of the Magic Mouse and Wireless Keyboard from Apple, I can get a Bluetooth combo that is RECHARGEABLE instead of using batteries (or taking the batteries out and putting them on a charger.) This pad (though it adds cost) solves the issue of batteries, finally making it rechargeable like it should be!

Your magic mouse suddenly costs 119.98, with a wire. The beauty of magic mouse is that it is plain and simple, a wireless mouse and absolutely nothing else. I always have an additional pair of rechargeable batteries charged that I swap whenever the mouse's batteries run out. I'd rather swap once every two months, than having a wire, pay an additional 49.99, additional desk clutter, and having to place it there daily for it to be any useful. Junk in my opinion. I now have one less thing on my desk, and a pair of batteries ready to be swapped away from sight inside a drawer.

The iCade has its own joystick and buttons! Finally, external buttons to play iOS games. Hopefully many developers will make their games compatible with this peripheral and take iOS games to the next level.

The only reservation I have about it is compatibility with the next iPad.

Apple should buy that company that made the inductive charger. Ideally, I would like to see the base expanded so it could work as a mouse pad that inductively charges the mouse.

And then you have a wire going from the mousepad to the computer or whatever XD

I hate the “Apple should buy that company because they make cool stuff” attitude, but we'll slide right past that.

If you want a batteryless mouse coupled with a thick corded mousepad that badly, why not get a Wacom tablet? The stylus and mouse are cordless and don't use batteries. Personally, I tried the mouse that came with my Graphire (seems they're not included anymore) for a few days before giving up on it. I don't want to go back on a decade of mousepad-free optical mousing just so I that don't have to deal with the momentary inconvenience of replacing batteries.

Why charge something only when you need it when you can have some induction device that's drawing 25 watts of power 24/7 ???

Makes sense to me !

Magic charger: good concept, but should be an entire mousepad. That way while being used, it's charging/powered.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_2_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8C148 Safari/6533.18.5)

Does the iCade use actual Sanwa parts or just cheap knock of buttons and sticks? For $99 it better have a nice JLF stick.

People still use mousepads? I thought the whole point of optical (not to mention wireless) mice were to be rid of things like mouse pads?

iCade = sold!! I will definitely being getting. The mouse charger is a good concept but I can definitely understand the difference of opinions people have. After using the magic mouse for a couple of months now I would have to say that I will be sticking to rechargeable batteries. I constantly have rechargeables charging for various things around the house. With that I don't see a need to buy a separate charger to plug.
