Rudi didn't even get traded, one of the Bengals best backs. They just cut him. I hope he signs with detroit and has an awesome year with them. He showed up in camp in awesome shape.

The only reason Moss is shinning is b/c he is on the pats.

Moss shines because he is tall, fast and doesn't drop too many balls. He was deadly when he was a Viking and is setting records now with the Pats.

That just goes to tell you how screwed up the Raiders are because they couldn't figure out how to use him!

2005: 97 receptions / 1432 yds / 9 TDs / Pro Bowl / All Pro
2006: 87 receptions / 1369 yds / 7 TDs / Pro Bowl / All Pro
2007: 93 receptions / 1440 yds / 8 TDs / Pro Bowl

Chad seems pretty "relevant" to me.

He is no longer relevant as a player, he is just a cartoon character

He hasn't been relevant on the field for a while and this is his way of getting time on Sportscenter...

Have you even watched him for the past five years. He is always one of the top receivers in the NFL. IIRC, he has the most yards over the past five years out of any receiver in the league.

TO is a better receiver (but drops too many balls)

He's faster.

You are telling me that being on a juggernaut team like the pats doesn't help? He is good don't get me wrong but i mean look at some recievers on crap teams that do good imagine what they would be on an all pro team like the pats.

Yes, he is, by far.

And I don't think TO would be any better on the Pats (especially not with Moss there already). There wouldn't be enough plays for them both to really shine.

TO is only better at dropping balls.

And i meant if Moss was gone and TO was there.

Chad Johnson is an idiot, and most of his team should be in jail.

<------
I guess you are one of the people who are unhappy that Chris Henry is back on the team?

Chad Johnson makes the game fun to watch. The upcoming Bengals season should be an interesting one to watch especially with the last string of cuts that just occurred. If any team should be in jail, lets look at the Dallas Cowboys. I am unable to point to my location

Totally missed the point there, you did. ;)

I find him annoying, both on and off the field
He is no longer relevant as a player, he is just a cartoon character

He's averaged 1400 yards, 8 scores, and 88 yds/game over the last 3 seasons. He was 3rd in receiving yards in 2007, 1st in 2006, and 3rd in 2005.

If you don't like the guy that's fine, but your criticism of his on-field performance is not based in reality.

I hope he gets traded to a team, where he can't get that jersey number.

Can also see the media playing with his name, hello Mr. Cinco. Or, Hey Ocho.

I remember all the trouble Helio Castro Neves had with his last name, before he asked the team to change the spelling a bit.

T.O.
2005: 47 Rec. / 763y 6TDs, that's in 7 games
2006: 85 / 1,180 / 13
2007: 81 / 1,355 / 15
Another thing to note, no fumbles in the last 3 seasons.
If any team should be in jail, lets look at the Dallas Cowboys.

Because they have Tank Johnson and Adam Jones? How many Bengals players were arrested in the months before Goodell took offer as commish? 9.

I never once said he didn't have "stats", what I said was he is irrelevant and that he seeks attention because he is irrelevant.

He is irrelevant because he plays on a team that is a circus and he is the clown. Moss and TO are relevant because their teams are in the playoffs year after year. Moss was irrelevant when he was in Oakland. The NFL is about winning and championships, not about "look at me" antics. Yes, TO is still TO to a certain extent... but he has been willing to curtail some from his 49er and Philly days because he wants to win. Moss did too... to win. Johnson plays on a laughable team and in my opinion he contributes to the atmosphere and the reason why nobody takes them seriously. He does not elevate his team... he trashes it publicly and has stated he wants out... no secret there.

He can have all the stats he wants (yds were good, TDs not so much), but he is still irrelevant, and to him, being irrelevant is unacceptable. So he pulls his antics for attention. So be it... let everyone laugh at him and be entertained because he "makes it fun". Losers are usually funny to watch.

I agree with some of what you said, my whole point is that chad is FUN to watch, i don't take football as serious as some i think it should be fun not 100% serious and i think that chad brings that to football. TO did some fun things to watch too, i just said that this was a funny thing and i give him props for going through with it. But he is also a great reciever, def. not a scrub.

Welcome Rudi Johnson to the Lions, I hope they sit the rookie soon and he starts week 3 or 5, and has a great season! F the Bengals front office.....

So people who are on bad teams are irrelevant? Or only people who are on "circus" teams?

I would say good players on bad teams can be irrelevant... but clowns on circus teams certainly are irrelevant. Great players on bad teams make a difference and elevate their team. They may not be able to overcome a bad team, but they make a bad team better.

Look, he is a good receiver, nobody questions that... and neither did I. My point was he is irrelevant... he just doesn't matter... if a tree falls in the woods and there is nobody there to hear it does it make noise?? If Chad catches 1,400 yards and 8 TDs and the Bungles suck... does anyone care? That is what I mean when I say he is irrelevant. Come playoff time... he will be on the sports shows running his mouth again, trashing his team, coach and owner. Maybe they deserve it, maybe they don't, but he is irrelevant to the NFL in my opinion.

Irrelevant does not equal "scrub", "bad", "no talent", etc.
Irrelevant means he is not a part of the equation

He does what he does so the spotlight will shine on him... because on the field... he is irrelevant... a non-issue, a non-story.

I agree. Even with his talent, people stopped talking about Chad. Partially because he was on a bad team (tough to get talked about a lot unless you're on a great or terrible team). Also, since his "greatest touchdown dance of all time" was a huge bust, people simply discounted him, and dropped the subject. How that's he's back to his foolish, ridiculous ways, people are talking about him.

I still say it was the best decision he could have made.

If he's irrelevant then so is the entire roster of the Dolphins, Falcons, Niners, Chiefs, Raiders... etc.

I think a player is "relevant" when he plays up to a level that significantly impacts the outcomes of games, or makes other teams game-plan against him, or even just makes fans sit up and take notice. Chad certainly does that with his play, so to be he's relevant.

If by "relevant" you mean that you have to be making plays on teams that have a chance to win the Superbowl then fine, he's irrelevant. But I think that definition of relevance is beyond silly.
