Perhaps, but he didn't put up much in the first three games with Palmer either.

And there are other receivers with much better numbers with less than stellar QBs too... which was one of my points in the beginning... great players make those around them better too.

:D kindof a dumb thing to do, but people love him even more now

How much love is he getting now?

I love Chad for making this move. There should always be a "that guy" in sports that seems to make a mockery of everything all in fun. I applaud him.

Also, it's great publicity.

I wonder how much fun the name change is for him now?

2005: 97 receptions / 1432 yds / 9 TDs / Pro Bowl / All Pro
2006: 87 receptions / 1369 yds / 7 TDs / Pro Bowl / All Pro
2007: 93 receptions / 1440 yds / 8 TDs / Pro Bowl

Chad seems pretty "relevant" to me.

He barely has 600 receptions and 53 TDs for his career
In none of the seasons quoted above did he have 10... Moss had how many last year?

If you don't like the guy that's fine, but your criticism of his on-field performance is not based in reality.

I guess I was just ahead of my time... see the stats for THIS year

If he's irrelevant then so is the entire roster of the Dolphins, Falcons, Niners, Chiefs, Raiders... etc.

I think a player is "relevant" when he plays up to a level that significantly impacts the outcomes of games, or makes other teams game-plan against him, or even just makes fans sit up and take notice. Chad certainly does that with his play, so to be he's relevant.

If by "relevant" you mean that you have to be making plays on teams that have a chance to win the Superbowl then fine, he's irrelevant. But I think that definition of relevance is beyond silly.

Hmmmmmmm, looks like those Dolphins and Falcons have turned THEIR teams around... better pick some new teams... in fact ALL of those teams are better than the Bungles aren't they ;). Well, there's always the Lions.

Exactly which play this year made the fans sit up and take notice? ;)

And are you a defensive coordinator? No, you aren't. I'd say a real defensive coordinator in the NFL just might want to account for one of the most prolific offensive players in the last 5 years.

And he didn't suck really, it was my boy Carson Palmer. Incredible quarterback, very bad game. I hope for a bounce back.

Badandy's NFL teams:

Saints
Bengals
Packers
Chargers

Don't think the defensive coordinators spend too much time with Ocho Stinko in their game plan this year.

How are those NFL teams working out for you this year?

The Chad Johnson Update™

Lots of crickets in here lately... where have all the Ocho Cinco supporters gone?

Suspended in Week 12 and missed the Pitt game for falling asleep in a team meeting and getting in a confrontation with the Coach. Excellent.

Maybe he needs another ridiculous publicity stunt?

Maybe he needs to be traded to a team in a Randy Moss type deal to resurrect his career.

And Belichick has repeatedly said before that he really likes Chad Johnson...

Imagine if Brady had Moss, Welker, AND Chad Johnson next year...

They'd make it to the Super Bowl and only win by 3 points. Or what is most likely, they'd not make the playoffs. Just because you have talented players doesn't mean they will work as a team. If they don't work as a team, all you will have is an expensive 7-9 team or worse.

Maybe the Giants will take him if Burress goes to jail.:(

They said Dillon and Moss would destroy the team too.

And they said Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, and Ray Allen wouldn't be able to play as a team and win a championship.

As long as you have great coaching, you'll be fine.

LOL the issue is Fitzpatrick is throwing the ball. Check out how much TJ Houshmandzadeh's #s are down. T.O., Greg Jennings, Anquan Boldin, Brandon Marshall would have a hard time on that team with him throwing the ball and the plays being called. the bengals don't exactly throw the ball down field and no team respects it. The issue is not Chad, it is the front office, plays being called, and a Backup QB leading the team. Oh and if you watch NFL you know, if you can't run the ball you can't throw it either.

If you want to talk about a receiver that is having a bad year and it is because he is in some sort of funk, I suggest you look at the stats of Braylon Edwards. He drops more balls than Your Georgia Bulldogs have dropped spots on the BCS rankings this year. :D

The Chad Johnson Update™

Ho... Hum
Oh well... he did flirt with an 80 yard game
Highest output of the year
But still ZERO TDs
