Why? Was it because of something he posted on Facebook?

I wonder how Emilio Estevez is doing during all this..
My understanding is they are considering Rob Lowe as a replacement
Hmmm... Really. That would be interesting but he doesn't have the same feel as a Charlie Sheen IMHO. That might be interesting thou.
Now, when they're talking of a replacement, are they thinking of killing Charlie's character off and Rob Lowe (or whomever) would be some new character that comes out of nowhere, it would they keep Charlie's character, swap actors, and act as if nothing happened?
You have many good qualities, lee, and you just showed us another one: a capacity for introspection; for looking back, recognizing and admitting that you might've made an all-too-human mistake.
A lot of us would probably have done the same thing, were we in your shoes. I take a looooooong time to let people who've wronged me back into my life.
I can't believe people watch this show. I tried watching it to see what the fuss is all about.....it seems like such a formulaic cheesy sitcom.
I love Bill Maher's take on the whole thing:

LOL!
In all seriousness...it'd be a hoot if they hired Emilio Estevez. Can you imagine the intra-family squabble that might set up??![]()
You're quite welcome.Wow- thanks for the compliment. That was very nice. Yeah, he was a very difficult person to deal with.
I love Maher, but most lame comedy ever? What about Me and the Chimp, It's About Time, Captain Nice, The Lucy Show, Family Matters, Webster, and Glenn Beck?I watched it once and was also amazed it was so popular. It's so run-of-the-mill.

I would like to see them pull off a change of actor for once, without changing the character. I think it's an insult to the audience's intelligence that networks think we can't accept someone else in the role. They always go for the knee-jerk reaction, which is to kill off the character. Give us some credit, and a chance for another actor to make the role his own. It's not like it's unheard of. How many James Bonds have there been??
And that's what bugs me. That's the only time I can think of on TV where they actually pulled a switcheroo instead of having the character killed or sending him or her on a long trip to visit Aunt Edna in Schenectady. They did it with Darren on Bewitched too.
Mr Wilson, although it was his "brother".Roseanne's blonde daughter. The Munster's blonde daughter.
I never watched those shows, so thanks for the information.Roseanne's blonde daughter. The Munster's blonde daughter. Dr Elizabeth Weir in Stargate.

His character on "Two & A Half Men" is based loosely on his life. He's been this way for the longest time. He's been through enough rehab to know what the alternatives are (the "healthy" lifestyle), and he obviously doesn't want that. He enjoys living as he does, so who can begrudge him that?
I'd rather have a short, enjoyable and colourful life than a long, boring one. Cheers to Charlie, I say. Damn that guys pulls some nice chicks
I still say Ted McGinley.I never watched those shows, so thanks for the information.
I guess that does show it can be done without the world coming to an end.
And now, back on the Charlie front, for those who are simply tired of it all...the Charlie Sheen blocker for Chrome and Firefox.![]()
McGinley has been called "the patron saint of shark-jumping" by jumptheshark.com founder Jon Hein. This is a reference to the popular and enduring shows which have featured him in their declining years. Such shows include Happy Days, The Love Boat and Dynasty.[6] Hein writes that this is not a comment "on Ted's fine acting skills" and that "he has a great sense of humor about it, too".[7] In one episode of Married... with Children (a show that stayed on the air for six seasons after McGinley's addition to the cast) McGinley himself spoofed this fact by momentarily breaking the fourth wall by asking Al "Another picture, captain? I mean, Fonzie? ....Al?". A 2003 issue of People that focused on McGinley's casting on Hope and Faith was titled "Ted McGinley Is Not a Killer", referencing his reputation for causing shows to jump the shark, though his long involvement with Married... with Children suggests otherwise; his contributions may have enabled the series to have a longer and more successful run.
Who said we have to live til 105 years old?
