And Chase MasterCards still don't work.![]()
I shared your frustration at first, but it didn't take long to get used to the 4.7 screen and now my wife's 5S feels too small. I still wouldn't want the gigantic 6 Plus though.

I called them up and asked them to switch my account to Visa's. They sent me two new cards, now ApplePay enabled.

It seems Chase is getting out of Mastercard for most of their cards. They recently switched my "Sapphire Preferred" Mastercard into a Visa. And Chase MasterCards still don't work.![]()

Give it 6m.![]()
and apple pay will fade in the usa. its a shame but the most likely outcome
NFC might not ever become as popular as in other countries, but that doesn't mean it's not going to catch on.

There is no getting used to it. Even the 5s is too big for me to carry all the time. When I'm working, I carry a flip phone because I can put it in my pocket and it mostly gets out of my way. Not everyone sits behind a desk surfing the internet all day.
I just need a small and rugged phone and it would be great if I could get that from Apple.
Apple has sold MILLIONS of phones that are smaller than the 6 and 6+. They are still selling the 5s and 5c so I would say there is still a market for smaller phones.
I would like to use ApplePay, just can't do it with anything other than the huge clown phones apple currently sells. That is short sighted in my opinion. My hope is they will fix that after the holidays are over and the sales of the clown phones slows down.
I have the 6+ and I have no problems with it fitting in my front pocket working a physical and mental job. So whether I'm climbing a ladder or bending conduit I have no issues whatsoever. Saying the 5S is too big is just ridiculous. There is no getting used to it. Even the 5s is too big for me to carry all the time. The 5s has the secure enclave for Apple pay via 64 bit A7 chip. It is scheduled to be released on iOS 8.2 but must be used with the Apple watchRant much?
Apple Pay requires a special chip that the iPhone 5s and lower do not have. But with an Apple watch you will be able to enable Apple Pay. So you can then keep your non-clown iPhone and use Apple Pay.
I see more of a mish-mash.
My Citi Mastercard works OK at Fresh Market. But that succeeds and then is declined at Home Depot. But Chase Visa worked OK there.
I don't see a pattern yet.

This is great. And once Apple gets loyalty/rewards nailed CurrentC will die a slow death.

True. But at this pace, I think we're 5-10 years away from widespread NFC adoption including Apple Pay in the USA. Apple did have the ability to push a mobile payment system mainstream in a much shorter time period, but with many greedy companies and their partners jumping in with their own convoluted systems, this has all gotten much murkier for the average consumer. Basically nobody wins here in the states.![]()
