I had to reread your post of 15 replacement 3GS phones.

I had a hard time justifying 2 replacements. I do think you deserve a quality device when you buy it. However, I do not think Apple needs to keep it that way for you. Sorry, I just don't think anyone could honestly say that 15 phones had "major" hardware defects.

I've had 15 3GS replacements, all for hardware defects (major issues, not minor) and now 3 iPhone 4 replacements. 2 16GB and 1 32gb.

Seriously, if I had anywhere near this many issues with a particular product I would NEVER replace it for another one of the same manufacturer....it would be returned permanently. I honestly love iPhone, mostly because of its quality of craftsmanship/usability and I have never had any problems....but if my experiences were anything like yours I would have moved on to a different phone company ages ago.

i think its you who has the problem. 15 3GS, 2lines, but still is a lot and already 3-4 iphone 4 exchanges seems utterly ridiculous. Seems to me like you are just looking at the slightest things to get a replacement.

if it doesnt bother you, then dont worry about it

plus if you HUP'd how did u get an factory unlocked phone?

Please just get another phone that's not an iphone.

Now wonder these damn things are so expensive! No way were there major hardware defects in 15 of them.

2 separate lines, one for me and one for my Fiancee. Seems our Apple Store is cursed?

My line has had more replacements, 8 to her 7 (roughly).

I upgraded to the iPhone 4, she did not as she's seen I've already gone through 3 phones. Well, soon to be 3.

This seems hard for me to believe, I've never heard of so many returns. I'm guessing you are ultra picky and a perfectionist, because I doubt all the returns were for major issues. No one has that bad luck.

My advice is just live with the phone, even if it has a couple minor flaws... no phone is perfect!

Now I understand why the completely take them apart when YOU go to turn them in, haha.

hey just wanna know who you did the HUP with?

if you did it through a Rogers store, most of them are franchise owned. if you did it through a Rogers plus store, you'll have better luck.

if you did it through the Apple store, i think you're in for a long ass ride with Rogers (not Apple) in terms of resetting your HUP eligibility.

Apple Store.

There was a mistake on the sale from Apple, but I ended up having to return it anyways.

Trust me I try my best to deal with what I have. Those 2 dots on the screen I kept telling myself I would ignore them because I didn't want to bother going to the Apple Store again.

I'm also trying my best to get better pictures.

Great idea although that will void my warranty. I know most people will say Apple will NEVER know, but they will. I've had so many replacements now that Apple actually takes a full blown look through of my device (sometimes taking it apart to check internals) to see if they can pin anything on me.

No, they won't. But you're not going to listen anyway.

It's not that I wont listen, I'd just prefer to be safe then sorry. As much as I'd love a quick fix for this issue I know Apple isn't quite pleased with me and will do anything to keep me from replacing my phone, which I hate doing and don't understand why they'd think I'm doing this on purpose.

I mean it's not like I enjoy replacements or enjoy driving a half hour to the store to deal with this kinda mess.

As much as I'd like to suck it up with this phone (which I've tried) I'm now getting a weird sound after locking/unlocking my phone using the sleep/wake button, it's like an echo but longer? I suppose.

Is this it?

Yes, the low quality picture doesn't do it justice and if I had access to something graphical to edit the photo I would have circled it like you did.

But yes, that's it at least someone can see it and I'm not crazy lol.

Edit:

There was a member here who posted that someone had some glue/plastic stuck and it looked like my photo.

I inspected the thread/photo and compared it to mine. Mine actually looks more like actual GLASS, as it's SHARP and has a rainbow-ey effect when a light is shined on it.

Further more an exacto knife and my fingernail could NOT remove the piece of glass or CUT it. It will not budge or be removed.

I bet the phone works fine too. Nothing in the world is perfect...Get used to it. After that many returns, there would be a whole lot more people with like problems. I say get over it and deal with it.

Actually, where the black dots are on the screen, in those specific area's only, the touch screen sometimes doesn't respond or "double taps" as I like to describe it. For example I was moving an app that the black dot is over, and all I did was touch to hold and nothing happened, the device completely wouldn't respond. I moved my thumb down and swiped, worked fine. On the second page, the app in the same place wouldn't move.

I had a similar issue

Although mine was a piece of black plastic that also created a separation between the glass and the steel band. Instead of trying to cut it with an exacto knife, just use the exacto knife to slide the piece of glass from between the glass back and the steel band. After you slide the glass out, you can then just push the lip flush with the steel band.

Tried that as well actually, but literally the piece will NOT budge no matter what I do. I used more then I should have force wise and still it will not budge.

I have a piece of white something in that area on my phone.

I've been unable to remove it though and don't really feel the need.

You've had 15 iPhone replacements. You need to get a BlackBerry now. That is by far the most absurd thing I've heard on these forums.

That is absolutely ridiculous. What in the hell are you people doing to your iPhones?

If I were Apple I'd give your money back and tell you to GTFO. No way you've had that many problems that would justify a replacement.

What nonsense, 15 phones. Take out the two screws, push the back plate forward and remove the "glass". Should take less than a minute. What are you waiting for??

lol I think you pissed off Apple so much that they purposely give you faulty products so you would just get annoyed with it and leave them alone and move on. Seriously, 18 iPhone replacements? Is your local Apple store located in a war zone?
