Question for anyone who has preordered an iPhone before: is it possible to set a shipping address that's different than the address on my AT&T account? My AT&T account has a Maryland address, but I'm in Massachusetts now and would rather the phone get shipped straight to me...

Does anyone have experience with preordering? When do you actually receive the phone?

I walked into att 5min before open time for the 5 and walked out 10min later with a shiney new phone. I'm thinking about doing that again.

I would like to get the iPhone 6 plus 64gb using the AT&T Next but that will make the phone cost $849. That's a lot. I guess, I'll wait until my 5S contract expires.

The AT&T Next program just spreads the full price out over the 20 months. $849 is the price of the phone. You're not paying extra to do it that way.

With their new plans, you get a monthly discount on the service as long as you participate in the Next program. If you choose to upgrade on a 2yr contract at the reduced/subsidized price, your monthly plan goes back up.

In my case, I have 4 phones sharing 10Gb, saving $100/mo ($25 per line). If I upgrade and pay the lower price for a 2yr contract, I lose that $100/mo discount. However, I can do dang near THREE new iPhone 6'es on the Next program and still save a little money. If I do 2yr contract upgrades, and pay $250 less for the phones, I lose money after month 3. :-(

Danged if ya do. Danged if ya don't!

You do know that you'll end up paying that and much more under contract right?

They arrive release date if you get it quick enough. After that it will depend on what time fedex delivers to your house.

AT&T sucks. I just wanted to get that out in the open. I feel better now.

AT&T used to be reasonable and give you the full discount every 2 years, and let you pay extra to upgrade in the off year. But now AT&T wants to screw me 3 years in a row. This means they are making more money off me than someone who waiting a full 2 years to upgrade. AND if I pay full price now, they will STILL lock me into another 2 year contract. So screw those *******s. It will cost me less to pay their ETF (which I shouldn't even have!) and go with someone else. So now which carrier is best?

AT&T Next is a ****ing joke for sucker who can't count.

My cost for a 128gb 6+ on AT&T is $749 with a renewal of a 2 year contract or 20 payments $47.45 that totals $949... No brainer.

Ha, you don't know much about your plan options.

Your data rate goes up when you commit to a 2 year contract, vs. going with the AT&T Next plan or buying the phone outright. Do your research.

I'll wait for the 6s, I always skip the non S versions. Historically the S is the fixed version.

Whatever happened to early upgrades AT&T used to have ? You know. You get a phone on a 2-year contract then 12-18 months later you're eligible for an upgrade.

I got the 5S In Sept. 2013 and AT&T shows I'm eligible for an upgrade in Sept. 2015.

Has anyone ever been able to actually preorder a device using T-Mobile Jump!, Verizon Edge, AT&T Next, etc?

T-Mobile and Sprint will pay your ETF.

Have you noticed NFC is not showing available for TMobile and Verizon on the Apple site when you compare the phones? Wondering if you get a TMobile phone and put an ATT SIM card on it will enable NFC.

Buying contract free T-mobile version and sticking my AT&T sim in it.

Don't touch Sprint with a 20ft pole. T-Mobile's data has been great for me and I love that they don't count music services towards your data count but if I could make call without it being dropped on the daily, that'd be nice.

This helped me quite a bit actually: Yes, they are slightly oversized with the cardboard so I could theoretically account for the Apple leather case. :)

i just printed it and i do not think it is accurate. the 4.7" is only a little big bigger then my 5S. The 5.5" seems to be a great size if these are real.

UPDATE: i just broke out the tape measure and compared the size to the specs from apple's website (http://store.apple.com/us/buy-iphone/iphone6) and the images are smaller then what the actual phone is. it is such a great idea its just not accurate.

UPDATE #2: My printer was set to "scale image" ... i changed it to "actual size" and the templates are accurate!

I signed a 2 year contract last november with Verizon/iPhone 5s and Verizon is telling me I'm not eligible to upgrade until November of 2015 :(

Sad news lol

There is an error in the article:
"For example, an AT&T user who purchased an iPhone 5s on release day on a two-year contract would be able to purchase an iPhone 6 for $649 on pre-order day, but would also be eligible for an early upgrade on September 21, which provides a $200 discount. This option also displays what Next monthly fees would be."

That should read "eligible for an early upgrade on September 21, 2015"

Bad Math. ATT gives you a $25/mo discount if you're on a mobile share plan. Plus, you can upgrade again at 12 months and the payments for month 13-20 are waived. So when the iPhone 6 Plus S (or whatever is released) you've really only paid $269.40 (12 x ($47.45-$25.00)).
Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

So is there an Unlocked version day 1?

Buying contract free T-mobile version and sticking my AT&T sim in it.

With the iPhone 5S the T-Mobile phone purchased in the Apple Store was unlocked with a T-Mobile SIM. If you purchased it in a T-Moblie store, it was locked but 50 bucks cheaper.

It says on Apple.com for this on the 5S, BUT not the 6? It says "contract free" T-Mobile = unlocked? I'm not sure about that.

Anyone know about the unlocked offering?

Since my contract with AT&T expires next month, I'm eligible. However, I'll be jumping ship and going to T-Mobile the moment it does. Which means that IF I upgrade to an iPhone 6 now, I have to get it unlocked and unsubsidized.

Not sure if anyone here really wants to jump carriers over the iPhone but for what it's worth, T-Mobile is having another "Un-Carrier" announcement in 40 minutes for some new incentive.
