I for one would be first in line to buy a piece of the "sky" if such buildings were made affordable for the working stiff (units selling for under $250K for a one bedroom).

I love the design of this building. Just wish we had more innovative designs in the US, as it seems that Europe does.

I like it too. I live in Chicago and would love to see it built. Unfortunately there is a campaign under way in that neighborhood to stop it. The rich in Lake Point Tower don't want their views blocked and such. I say too bad, it's an empty unused lot and they should build it.

The artist rendering reminds me of the drill bit from the floating orb in the movie Phantasm.

I was born and raised in Chicago, I would hate to see anythig happen to the Chicago skyline, the surrounding museums and the people of Chicago.
I was recently in Chicago this past Jan. I was awe struck on how much the city has cleaned up from 1996-2005, absolutely magnificent.

As an engineer I find that quite hard to believe.

I'm not an engineer myself and the idea is a bit freaky but that's what the guy said. I hope he's qualified to talk about it as he was signing off the engineering on a property for me when we got chatting.

I'm an Engineer as well. Math and physics tell me this guy is definitely misinformed and/or exaggerating.

this makes no sense. if they didn't build high-rises there wouldn't BE a skyline. The caltrava building is unique and it would, without doubt, add to the skyline.

Big buildings like that are interesting to look at but I would not want to be in one and I really question their value. But then the value of cities is questionable.

I was about to ask you where you live and work then if cities have questionable value, but I see you live in the Mountains. Fair enough. That's cool. :)
