I live in China (i'm an undergraduate here) and as far as i know, the Mainland version of Nokia E71 doesn't have the Wi-Fi feature as well and it is the same priced (or much pricier) than the unlocked versions. Of course it's not brainer that people would most likely pick the later.

I heard the reason why the took off some of the phones' wireless features it's because China is currently building some sort their own system of Wi-Fi so i guess they don't want any interference?

How is listing 20 or so links without any context being "owned"?

It's more like "electronic intimidation" - it will take some time to follow each link, determine its strengths and weaknesses, and come up with a response.

Posting a long list of URLs is a bullying tactic, not a discussion. I don't follow naked links - if you can't tell me why I should click on a link - I don't. If you can't give me an analysis of how a link supports your position, I'm not going to do it for you.

At least quote a paragraph or sentence from each link that supports your argument.

This link is an answer to the link he provided.

http://www.appleinsider.com/articles/09/02/28/japanese_hate_for_iphone_all_a_big_mistake.html

Add to that the fact that the iPhone was #1 in Japan in July and August.

The rest of the links just demonstrate he's been living under a rock since 2007.

Downplaying the iPhone - its impact, its significance, its overall feature set, what it brings to the table, how the industry has received it, etc., is really a losing game. It's getting to be like downplaying the iPod: Either you're aware of a new device that no one else is aware of (or you've got a working crystal ball), or you're crazy.

What, you seriously think you'd have an HTC hero, WinMo 7 (LOL), the Pre, Android, etc., without the massive shakeup the iPhone brought to the market?? Sure, you'd have them. Years later and in who knows what condition. And in two years, the rest of the half-asleep also rans can barely approach the iPhone, never mind "catching up." Thanks to the iPhone, Motorola is in a position now where they're on they're last legs. Yeah, I'm really sure they saw THAT coming three years ago! So where do you think they'd all be WITHOUT the iPhone, when even WITH the iPhone as an example they can barely get their act together after all this time?

The iPhone "isn't that great", yet it's already breathing down RIM's neck and Nokia's in a steady downward spiral. Apple, a new player, in only two years, managed to utterly embarass the "big" players who have been at the game for years. And continue to do it! Not bad for "not great." So then, what actually IS great? Telepathy?

No, you don't need to click the links. But they're all there and they certainly beat anecdotal "I think this/I think that" nonsense. Dodge the links all you like. Others, however, *will* click the links. They're pretty self-explanatory. Even cursory, basic, Google research will state the obvious - what everyone already knows.

Dont bother arguing wiht LTD. He is an apple fanboy to his core and worships at the church of Steve Job. Apple could sell dog crap paint it white and he would call it the greatest thing ever. On top of that he would find reviews that supported it. In his mind apple can do not wrong and anything some one else does is well crap.

The dude said the iphone isn't that great with. His links show that the majority of consumers and the phone industry disagrees with him.

Pot calling someone black. An ardent Apple hater calling someone an Apple fanboy.

I don't blame people for waiting for the WiFi version. If Apple is smart, they will take back all of the no-WiFi phones and restock Chinese stores with the WiFi phones. It's a loss. Write it off, and move on. Their reputation and future sales are more important.

Perhaps selling billions of iPhones in China will be America's solution to the trade deficit. :)

You call me a apple hater. Some one who likes apple products but refuse to worship at the Church of Steve Jobs.

Btw I am not the only person who has pointed that out about *LTD* hell I think he himself as even admitted his is a huge fanboy of apple.

*Sigh*

The iPhone is a great device. I do wonder about its longevity though.

Nokia are still utterly dominant though and suggestions that they're on a downward spiral - at least with reference to their handset division - are completely unfounded.

I'll wait until Apple's next quarter results (and perhaps more tellingly the ones after that) before drawing any conclusions about its success in China.

The iphone is here to stay, you can bank on that!

So bloody what, he says positive things about Apple. I haven't read one positive thing you've said about Apple or any of their products. All your posts are negative towards Apple. What makes you different from him.

I dont worship at the church of jobs.

Also I tend to only point flaws in fanboys crap and lets face it to many apple fanboys would buy an iCrap from apple and call it the best thing ever. Or things I wish apple would change.

It is not like I come here screaming apple sucks. or Blah blah is better.

Something has to give if I hang around and post little things. I just refuse to get swept up in Apple media hype.

Oh envy is a hard road. LOL

Real Marriage - Have you talked about it with your straight friends, your straight colleagues and your straight relatives?

Please don't bring this up in this thread, thats what PRSI is for.

True, proselytizing on a public forum is hardly considered appropriate nor acceptable - speaking of unsolicited ads.

Perhaps selling billions of iPhones in China will be America's solution to the trade deficit. :)

It certainly won't hurt.

They do make up one sixth of the world population... And they do produce everything for everyone in the rest of the world... They are the world's fastest growing powers so anything that happens there affects us in some way...

Any why is that? American greed! Bring back "all" of the American manufacturing and see what would happen. That would create a tremendous number of jobs here and products could be American made again. Like almost all computers, musical equipment, clothes, etc, etc, etc.

Dude you've never posted anything positive about Apple. If you are as objective as you are making yourself seem, you would have at least one positive thing you've said about Apple. Everything you write about Apple has a negative view to it. Don't be trying to call anybody fanboy when you're even worse with your views.
