I just logged in to say that your comment just shows how ignorant you are of how a final product such as the Apple Watch gets its final price. The price you pay includes years of research, development, which again intrinsically include design, prototyping, machines, countless man hours, the very same again for the accompanying software. Potatohead thieves can blatantly rip these off and sell inferior plastic junk (eg. Samsung) for 1/20th the price, because they didn't have to do any of these.

If you don't understand product development and business management, I'd suggest you refrain yourself from making ridiculous comments about it.

Apple wouldn't have made a damn watch if it wasn't for all the smart watches ALREADY on the market. Explain to me what you mean by "quality". You mean using cheap aluminum? Sorry hunny but no watch is worth more than $50 unless it has diamonds and crap.

Apple has a high profit margin, that's the only reason why their crap is so expensive. It's not because it's " better."

The word GIVE ME A BREAK resounds large and clear, the screen is crap (you see right by looking at it), the SOC is crap (off the shelf and slow), the build and material... You got it... Crap. The integration with the Iphone (or any other phone).... Crap AND a security risk... The interface... Compatibility with Iphone Apps (you know the SDK...) well obviously Crap.

So, yeah, if you like crap they got it for you.

Crap? You mean all of apples most resent software updates? With all those bugs?

Ripping off someone else's design means they didn't pay for research, design, marketing, or anything else. Don't post again until you understand how business works.

Do you really think apple really thought this smart watch thing out?? They threw something together to try to compete with other smart watches and slapped a pretty shiny cover on it. At this point, other smart watches have already been on the market for at least a year now. Apple is the copy cat now.

except there's nothing smart about Nano.

Maybe next time you will tell me ipod touch also since you can buy an armband?

It's the genesis of the smart watch/music watch that is now the Apple Watch.

It is the device that inspired the creation of the Moto Active Watch (or whatever it's called) Pebble and the entire line of Android wear.

not only it looks exactly same as Apple Watch.

it only costs 1/15 what Apple wants to gouge you for. AND the battery life is 10 times what Apple can do.

Let's be honest, this is probably made in the same factory that's producing AppleWatch.

Right. Tell you what then, go buy it. If it's all the same except less expensive and even has better battery life, then this is a steal. Please buy it and review for us.

When the iPhone 3GS came out, my father found a ripoff in China also and bought it thinking it was probably just as good. This thing sucked ass. It had a resistive touch screen and it took four or five swipes before it finally unlocked. When I tried opening the settings, it took 10 seconds to open up. Then it took several seconds between tapping a setting and when it would actually open.

Plus this copy requires USB which means it needs to be plugged in. Fail.

Correct, all these so called smart watches don't hold the candle to the Swiss watch designs.
There is way too much focus on the health & fitness FAD on all of these.
Personally, I can't understand it.
How about introducing a smart watch that is a WATCH without all this fitness & health crap...

Seriously, I don't get the whole smart watch craze. If you want to be proactive about fitness, spend the $350+ on a gym membership, go to the gym and get your heart rate up. You don't need a damn waste of money device to tell you your heart pulse. Do some cardio for 20-30 minutes. It's not that hard.

I actually think this is funny because it has the main functionality that a lot of people want and it is so dirt cheap that you don't even care if you lose or break it. So this could actually sell quite well. It is of course nothng like the iWatch.

The only concern is that products like this cheapen the image of the iWatch and this can and will harm Apples sales and therefore down the road jobs.

If something like this with a different design at that price gets released I might be interested. With a different design it would not hurt Apple and technologically it is just a simple bluetooth linked gadget like a car stereo or any of the bluetooth speakers out there.

Sweetie, the Apple watch has already been CHEAPENED by all the people who think it is the most ridiculous thing in the world. The apple watch is cheap. As in cheaply designed. Put a bunch of idiot engineers in one room together, give them a billion dollars, and this is what they make? The apple watch is DOA, just like apple pay is.

You're talking about a fake IPHONE, not a fake WATCH. They are completely different.

The thread title says they "sold Fake Apple Watches", which makes it sound like Hyperdon was trying to pass it off as an Apple Watch. But they weren't.

Yep. Another commenter made the same point on page 3…

Nowhere in this article is it stated that the company was falsely selling this watch branded/labeled as an Apple product. Unless this was the case, the headline is absolutely misleading. It's one thing to say they were selling a clone, knockoff, or use similar verbiage to describe something with similar looks and/or features, but that doesn't make it a "fake". The company used their own name and own product name. They weren't misleading anyone to think it was an actual Apple watch, were they? It's one thing to say they were ripping on Apple's look and feel (obviously the case), but fake? No.

Switzerland is laughing hard at both products, whilst retaining decorum and passive neutrality. Quiet, successful confidence doesn't need to protest, it just giggles and carries on as normal.

Actually the Swiss watch industry is a bit nervous now they've seen fake watches that are such good copies determining wether you have a fake of real one becomes non-trivial. A real watch like a Rolex Oyster gmt master II can easily cost $25k. The well known fakes are $100-200 and easily spotted. But there's a new kind of fake, more expensive at prices $1000-$2000, and good enough to fool experienced watch dealers. Only when they try to verify the watch at the manufacturer, they find out that the serial number belongs to a different watch or different line.

I actually find it fun to watch users eye the Apple Watch, then suddenly change their minds when they see this faker at CES, now everyone want THIS one..

Gee... I you u guys were Apple users :p

no wonder they were somewhere at the back,,, they knew they were breaking the rules at CES.

Just seems everyone likes Apple because they like the design,,, they just don't like the software.

I've got my own business and to have an Apple Watch that alerts me to emails while on the go and lets me see it right away instead of digging through my pocket to get my iPhone is more than important. I need to make timely responses to my clients.

The Apple Watch will sell big. I even hear people wanting to buy this that weren't normally excited by Apple products.

Just the fact this thread has gone on so far talking about this fake watch shows the level of awareness and interest.

Threads don't go on this long for all topics. As I said in the post above I'm hearing from a lot of people that want the Apple Watch. And they are definitely not Macrumor readers or techies in any sense.

Heck, my wife even wants to the Apple Watch and she is generally tech phobic.

Apple wasn't first to the MP3 market, but they defined it. We'll see if they can repeat this with the Apple Watch. It looks promising.

The world of low life copycats survives because there're people like you who don't have respect for hard works. Next time, tell your parents to go for health check up at a unlicensed practitioner instead of a certified doctor who charges 20x more.

Owning apple products has made me learn to hate apple. Let's be honest here though. By the time apple came out with this apple watch there had already been smart watches on the market. Apple has already failed with the watch. If they really wanted it to sell they wouldn't make it exclusive for the iPhone only. That means anyone with any other kind of phone is out. I ditched the iPhone for a nexus 5. It's faster than any iPhone 6 and is less expensive. The only way I'd ever buy an iPhone again is if it has 2gb of ram, can actually multitask (and no I'm not talking about that stupid double tap the home button crap and tap on another app.) and only if I have root access and was pre jail broken, and if I didn't have to use a proprietary cord. The apple

Did apple ever think that maybe people without iPhones might want an apple watch? No, they only think about themselves.

With apple releasing buggy software lately I wouldn't be surprised if the apple watch has its fair share of bugs.

One needs to be screwed over by apple enough times to learn that they are perpetrators of engineered obsolescence.

Also, you make a very invalid claim about the whole doctor thing.

The apple watch is DOA. It costs more than just $350, it costs that much PLUS the price of an iPhone. You have to buy 2 products just so it will work. The apple watch is for people with more money than sense.

More money than sense. Apple watch is for people who like having their faces in their phones all day. Too bad you won't be able to text and drive with an apple watch. You'll have to dig your iPhone or of your picket for that.

I'm surprised that the thing can actually make calls and play music, seeing as it's a cheap POS. Wonder what it's made of? Cheap plastics?

Also, the Digital Crown on the fake watch looks wayyyy off. It looks like a cog or gear on the fake thing.

I don't think you're seeing this the right way. Is it a cheap POS, or an illustration over an forthcoming over priced novelty device that isn't worth half the proposed retail price?

My roommate just bought a cheap Chinese android knock off watch, and it does everything it's $200 counterparts do perfectly fine... all these watches are are blue tooth headsets for the wrist. They need a phone to do nearly anything, and the few things they don't, are fitbit like things.

The Apple Watch is just as guilty of these things as the Galaxy Gear and every other watch out there. "See texts, read email, use voice commands... that your phone that's already in arms reach does better...."

The promise of the apple watch was all these alleged health sensors that turned out not to be there.

So hey, if not for Apple's refusal to allow anything third party to do anything with IOS without jail breaking, this cheap copy is probably just as capable at the Apple watch except it won't rip you off or come in 14K gold.

"That turned out not to be there"? Err, the Apple watch is confirmed to have a heart rate sensor. The knockoff just has charging contacts in its place (meaning it doesn't have the Apple Watch's inductive charging either). And apparently the "digital crown" on the knockoff is just a button. The glowing "black" pixels suggest that it's using a cheap backlit LCD rather than an OLED (which I wouldn't mind if it was transflective... frankly it makes the most sense for a watch IMO... but I doubt it is), and I'm willing to bet that it doesn't have the AppleWatch's pressure sensing feature and that the internals are quite a bit weaker.

There was a lot of unfounded speculation about glucose sensors etc.

Does the knock-off even have a touchscreen?

To me it's like something you give a child who wants a smartwatch like their daddy. Or that someone gets to pretend that they can afford a real one.

If you can attach more than 5 images in one post for me, I'll pay you in cookies...

"denouncing" - lighten up my serious fellow - it's just a little bit of fun, mixed with an Atlantic ocean sized portion of truth. Your reaction just reinforces that - but come on - have a giggle and stop being so serious :)

I think the point is: it was funny the first time. After that it just starts to become a little annoying.

Your posts are 100% correct, it is how the world around here is now. For better or worse. But IMO I did agree with him. There was no reason to keep posting it. First time was enough and funny, after that it's like trying to stretch a joke to make it funnier than it really is.
