Got referred to a senior advisor and I explained the situation and they first advised it would be 7-10 days to ship mine out after sending my one off and then put me on hold and came back sounding all excited saying she just found out something cool and wanted me to try it, then directed me to the apple store online page and at the bottom of the watch it says dispatched time - thats her new exciting thing!! she didnt know that was there to start with!!

I then asked couldnt I do an express option and because I dont have AC+ they wouldnt give me this option so i asked to buy it and because I have a chip on the device i cant buy it even though its not my fault!!!!!!

You wouldn't want to waste one of your replacements on something that wasn't your fault anyway. Not to mention you would have to pay the replacement fee for something that wasn't your fault as well.

Exactly mate I didnt WANT to but was showing my hands to see what happened tbh. I think an email to Tim might help!

I'm disappointed in the quality control from Apple on the Space Gray sport model. These pictures are a few different angles of the chip in the space gray coating, directly to the left of where the glass display and aluminum body meet.

It looks silver in that area, and its extremely disappointing, because this is my 2nd replacement for my first space gray aluminum model, for a total of three in a row with the same problem, in a different spot next to the display each time.

At this point, I cant imagine purchasing another space gray model until they are sold in store, so that I can inspect it on the spot before leaving. Otherwise, I'll have to switch to the silver aluminum model.

EXACTLY the same situation as me yet mine is at 4pm shall we shall rather than 9pm. I thought I was alone!!

Yep got the same here same size mark on the edge of the case where it meets the screen but at 2 o'clock just behind the digital crown seems like a production fault as theres no way I could have scratched it where it is without getting the crown as well. I can live with it though it's small enough and it's next to the crown so less noticeable. still disappointing for a product that so much "care" was taken over.

I wasnt sure a black sharpie would work

Surprisingly yeah, blends right in, once you rub off the excess with your fingernail you can't even see it must be a mix of the black and the silver shining through makes it grey. Of course you do this at your own risk but I figured what the hell I'm not waiting several weeks for a replacement that might have the same defect.

I've also been wondering why it's there in the first place and have a suspicion it's reused cases from the batch with the bad taptic motors if they've levered the screens off the faulty units it would explain the mark.

I'm from the UK and I purchased a watch (space Grey) from a guy on a forum and travelled through to pick it up

I got home and tried it on and noticed a small mark, it was exactly what the guys are suffering from above. This is shocking that QA hasn't managed to pick this up

......I feel another iPhone 5 Scuff marks issue coming!!! Can anyone remember the bezel scuff marks lots of people were complaining of straight out the box?

Yeah I remember that, I was gutted and it just kept getting worse after 2 weeks my iPhone 5' bezel had them all over the place.

Saying that this looks different I've had my watch for over 10 days now and there's not one other mark on it. This is certainly a Q&A problem and the more I think about it the more I'm sure this was down to reused cases from the faulty first batch.

Ive tried emailing Tim Cook about it but so far zero response. what annoys me is they dont offer the facility to ship the replacement before I ship them mine BUT they CAN ship link bracelets (costing more than my watch) to the customer and then have the customer send the old one back. Procedure void?

Tim might be a little tied up with WWDC - it starts in 50 minutes.

I think it sucks that Apple won't ship you a replacement before you send them yours. It's not your fault the watch arrived cosmetically damaged. I had a faulty watch and I had to wait over 3 weeks for the replacement as there was no stock. Other people were receiving replacements within 48 hours.

Chanting *I'm not bitter. I'm not bitter. I'm not.....*

Its the principle of them shipping link bracelets at £400 but WONT ship a watch before hand. Just stupid tbh!

I do feel there is no consistency. I shipped off my faulty watch and waited while other people received express replacements based on the fact they had Applecare+. Their express replacement was issued without even making the claim against the Applecare+ policy.

I also had Applecare+ but it didn't make any difference. Perhaps it's a UK thing. I don't even know where you go from here.
