And we'll never know if Bale is just ripping the set staff a new anus because he's a jerk or if he's just doing a bit of method acting.

The thing is real life businessmen, even ones as epic as Jobs, are just not exciting enough for a 'weighty' drama. You need to fictionalise a la Gordon Gecko or make a more modest TV movie a la The Pirates of Silicon Valley or a drama like the BBC's brilliant, The Micro Men.

I guess this will be the only Sony movie without Sony product placement everywhere.

Maybe... I remember a passage in the biography where Steve actually spent some time praising Sony. Maybe one of the 30 minute segments will just be that.

i hope in the scenes when jobs gets really pissed he launches into the batman voice.

WHO'S FAULT IS IT THEY'RE LEFT HANDED, NOT MINE, ANTENNAGATE MY ASS

edit: looks like i'm def not the first to mention this.. i'll show myself out >

OK, maybe a wrong place to pitch this. Sorry! :)

A slightly slimmed Kevin Spacey (courtesy HoC on Netflix) would be my choice if there were ever to be a biopic for/on Jeff Bezos.

Simply cannot imagine anyone else.

Steve in an elevator with a new Apple employee.

Steve: "Where is the iPhone mockup I asked for"

Employee: "Ummm... ?"

Steve: "Where is it!"

Employee: "I swear to god I have nothing to do with that"

Steve: "SWEAR TO ME!!!!!!!!!!"

I am excited. Both for Christian Bale and for the fact that this movie can't be worse than the other Steve Jobs movie.

I totally agree. Isaacson's bio was an interesting (though not captivating, or even particularly revealing) read. I doubt I'll bother with the movie, though.

Aaron Sorkin is the best writer in Hollywood. This movie is going to be amazing. I am happy about Bale, he's a good choice.
Let's start the game. Movie about three products. My bets:
- 1984 Mac (founding of Apple to "bad days")
- iMac (covers NeXt, Pixar and what lead to his return to Apple)
- iPhone (covers the succesful return, and his legacy)

I was just saying the other day that we need another Steve Jobs movie....

Christian Bale is an excellent choice, but I would have prefered David Fincher instead of Boyle. Boyle can be really good, but he can make average stuff as well...

From what I've read in an earlier interview by Sorkin, it's going to be :
- 1984 Mac
- the first Next
- the first iPod.

( maybe because those represent 3 periods of his life, the start of Apple ( Mac era), Jobs ousted from his company, his triumphal return )

I guess you're not familiar with Sorkin's body of work. He made the White House bureaucrats interesting, creating one of the biggest TV shows in modern history. He also made a Guantanamo Bay general interesting, while in the process making Tom Cruise actually be a great actor and Demi Moore quite good.

Is anybody really interested in this movie? I have a feeling it's going to be terrible.
