Chuck Norris does not act like other people. Other people ack and look like Chuck Norris out of respect and casting hope.

Tom would make a great Mike Markkula.

There must be problems with the script, the director dropped out, Leonador Dicaprio dropped out and now Christian Bale. Obviously it's a problem with the movie itself and not with the actors or directors.

Don't get me wrong - I like the movies about Silicon Valley, etc. But I don't want to watch a movie portraying a launch event that was actually filmed and lives on through YouTube.

We need the private stuff, the behind the scenes stuff, the engineering and bickering about font size and shades of black. I remain open to the concept, but initially, I have to give this version a thumbs down on premise.

Guys... I'm not a Hollywood type. Never wrote a script. Never wrote a book, a play, etc. But do you really think the movie is going to be *about* the announcements backstage?

If I had to guess, the backstage scenes will set up each act, I, II, III. They may do them in chronological order, or run around. So say you see Steve behind the scenes at the original Mac launch. He'll be talking about something, and that will fade to the first act, and that will take you either to the second announcement, or it will move around. Backstage at the second even, again, he'll talk about something, maybe how hard it was to do something back when, and it will fade to that, and continue the movie.

You will have a proper beginning, middle, and end, but I think the script will use Apple events, as we all know how powerful those used to be for Apple and Jobs, as the foundation for wherever he's taking the story.

YOU ARE NOT, I REPEAT, YOU ARE NOT going to watch a 2 1/2 hour movie of Jobs talking about iMacs, iPods and iPhones. Those Apple events will be used to move the story along.

I can't see it any other way. So no worries.

Probably not b/c of the script. as an actor, doing a biopic is the pinnacle of character acting. it's one thing to play a historical character such as Lincoln but its completely different to play someone with such a recent following and mass admiration as Jobs. actors likely either don't want to alienize their own fan base or they feel they can't do justice to the part IMO.

First David Fincher pulls out and now Christian Bale pulls out. Damn you Sony for failing to secure both the services of the perfect director and the perfect actor. That is it. I pull out too.

Now he will officially be known as Christian Bale-Out!!!

Maybe Sean Connery can play him...

Would does anyone but Jony equate Steve with 007? If they film the movie backwards and he's willing to GAIN weight for a role, what about Matthew McConaughey?

Actually, there have been enough Jobsumentaries. Now it's time for an action movie, comedy or cartoon that appeals to a different audience.

When you see a mass feeling from a movie in the late stages of pre-production, in most cases, one of the following happened.

1) The script sucks, blame the writer
2) Investors pulled out, blame the producer
3) Celebrity scandal damaging the PR of the movie, blame an actor
4) The production budget came in too high, blame the unions
5) Visual effects expectations were way out of expectation, blame the SFX house
6) Major news event occurs making the movie publicly unacceptable, blame the media

In this case, my guess it is a mix of #1 and #2.

I'm lobbying for Jay and Silent Bob as Steve and Woz.

Doing the Apple / Jobs story as a druggie comedy instead of a drama would work. Have them finish up the Apple One prototype for the Homebrew Computer Club, they blaze, get the munchies, pick up a dozen Apples at a supermarket, drive stoned ...

"Man what do we call this company?"

<chomps apple> "Hmm .... let's call it 'Apple' dude. You like apples?"

"Yeah, but is that a computer name?"

"Man, like it is now."

Think Cheech & Chong as engineers.

Surely Leonardo DiCaprio is available. He loves biopics, even though as an audience member, we can't help but look at the screen and say: 'Look, it's Leo playing Ho Chi Minh'.

Im not a lover of Bale..his batman deep voice sucked..caprio has always been in good films and is a great actor. Django unchained for example..but I believe that Jobs is such an icon, actors are scared to **** it up.

Loads of actors flirt with doing a particular movie but nothing comes of it. What's weird about this situation is that Christian Bale was announced last week, meaning he liked it and had agreed to star, and then this week we get the announcement that he has left the project.

What has happened in the space of 4 days for Bale or the studio to change their mind?

Why don't they just pull the plug on this. I think at this stage, its DOA. I mean his death was 3 years ago and by the time they roll out a finished film its going to be 2016 or 2017 at this rate. I think they needed to strike while the iron was hot. They missed their window of opportunity and now a movie about Steve Jobs isn't going to deliver the same sort of consumer interest as it was back in 2011.
