Noah Wyle! They probably think he isn't A-list enough, but he's absolutely perfect for it and combined with Pirates, the two could be a fairly concise version of the story Jobs (at Apple).

 doh .......

He may have been the best,,, we could have get a complete doosh bag now..

Then how about Jack Jack Nicholson?

Bazinga!

Wait, so the movie is just three product launches? A recreation of the keynote presentations? Makes sense actors would read the first scene of the script and say "nope". Especially if they have to play the very unpleasant version of Steve as he is often depicted outside of official sources. If a character plays a very unlikable role, that's a career ender right there.

Case in point: Try not picturing Hitler banging on his desk while watching this:

Anyone else find the premise of the movie (with the 3 scenes of product launches) totally and completely uninteresting?

My understanding is that it will be three scenes of Steve Jobs preparing for product launches, not the actual launch presentations. This could allow great insights into Steve Jobs as a person.

It was my understanding the movie would consist of the behind the scenes preparation of each product launch and not the actual product launches themselves.

And BTW, Noah Wyle didn't just play Steve in Pirates of Silicon Valley. He played Steve at a MacWorld event at Steve's invitation. And it seems it took some people several minutes to catch on.

Noah Wyle for Steve!

(And if they need a Bill Gates... Anthony Michael Hall)

My guess is he saw the script. I know Adam Sorkin as won awards but I find his machine gun style of dialogue to be irritating. People are not that quick and do not talk like that. The style was new for the first few episodes of West Wing but I now find it just annoying and irritating.

Steve Jobs

Which image of Steve are we looking for?

I suggest making the movie a comedy and casting Steve Martin.
