best news i've heard in a while. Bale would be horrible as Jobs. Plus he's a jerk, so it's a win-win.

This is looking like it will end up being a forgettable and mediocre film. David Fincher pulling out was a bad sign. Seth Rogan signing on and Christian Bale pulling out within a week of each other is really bad. For Jobs to be so obsessed with quality, taste, and details; a subpar film is a disservice to his legacy and shouldn't even be made.

I'm waiting to hear Danny Boyles has pulled out and Kevin Smith has signed on to direct next.

I'm betting the money wasn't right. He's use to that Batman money.

Surely Leonardo DiCaprio is available. He loves biopics, even though as an audience member, we can't help but look at the screen and say: 'Look, it's Leo playing Ho Chi Minh'.
Leo could not be more wrong for Steve Jobs.

----------

Enough with Jobs already. He is DEAD. DEAD.
Not a ton of movies made about someone when they're still living. Why all the hate for Jobs anyway? This is an Apple forum. If you don't like Steve Jobs or at least being willing to see Steve stuff here, why not take your rage elsewhere?

Imagine this...

CHUCK NORRIS as Woz...just imagine ;-)

Given his place in the food chain, I'd back out too if I had to appear along side the likes of Seth Rogen.

Noah Wyle! They probably think he isn't A-list enough, but he's absolutely perfect for it and combined with Pirates, the two could be a fairly concise version of the story Jobs (at Apple).
It's not just that, he's already played Jobs and people would simply not line up for another Jobs movie with the same actor.

Well, that's very disappointing. I think the project is very much dead now. This is the kind of film that need a solid star actor, and even though everyone is vouching for Wyle, he's just not known enough by the general audiences (plus he did it already)
Except for Kutcher (done) and Bale, i don't see who could play this. DiCaprio was a far off choice. He doesn't even remotely look like Jobs ( and when you play a figure that was visible by many people, this is important. No one remember how the FBI's boss looked like, but A lot of people remeber how Jobs looked like)

Somehow i think this is Sony's fault. Fincher withdraw because Sony refused to pay him the salary he was asking , 10 millions, wich not crazy for a director of this caliber. If Fincher was still on board, he could have convinced Bale on taking the role.

Noah Wylie was the lead actor in the most popular show on TV at one time, called ER - where have you been?? He is known by everyone and has won numerous awards and all Hollywood knows who he is as well. He just hasn't been doing much A-list in these 2010-ish era action films that people see these days....he is still one helluva great actor

Not a huge amount [is up with Noah Wyle] I don't think, Falling Skies TV series. I think he would be perfect for the role, he looks like Steve and is a great actor!

I was going to say that this whole idea of another Steve Jobs biography should just be dropped. I liked Noah Wyle in Falling Skies even though I'm probably only one of three people who watch the show.

If Noah wants to do the part, I say give it him.

People should stop obssessing about Seth Rogen. I'm sure he had a very minor role in the film. The 3 moments in the Sorkin script are the launch of the first Mac, the Next, and the iPod. That means Rogen would have appeared in less than one third of the film anyway (the Mac part only)....

iPhone Scene:

Employee: "I have the iPhone prototype. It will be leaked to the press unless you pay me".

Steve Jobs: "If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills. Skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you return the iPhone prototype, I will not look for you.
If you don't.... I will look for you. I will find you...And I will kill you".

My take is that the guy didn't even audition for it. Aaron Sorkin said it was after a meeting.

Perhaps Sorkin got some rose-tinted glasses and just assumed that he was gonna do it, when; Bale didn't even audition.

Prouducer -Mr Bale would you like the role of Steve jobs?

Bale -sounds great,I'm in!

-----ONE WEEK LATER------

Bale- excuse me,but who's my co-star?

Producer -Seth rogen. The guy from knocked up and green hornet.

Bale -I'm out,no thanks.

I like Seth Rogen but I seriously don't get his casting. He's tall and not fat like woz, yeah sure he's a good actor but not that good. A better choice would be Jonah Hill, really fat, short and amazing actor. I actually think they casted Seth by mistake thinking it was Jonah.

I agree with you. I totally don't see rogen at all as Woz.
