Back home, installed the latest OS X update on it. Installing Windows on Bootcamp now and then we will hit it 3DMark Firestrike and various other requests. While I'm getting Windows setup, patched and the drivers sorted, feel free to post requests and Ill do my best to facilitate. I have quite a few titles in my Steam library on Windows and Mac, so let me know. I will probably test Diablo 3 and WOW under OS X as well. I have the folders on my current machine.

Would love to see what fps you get on Diablo 3 at native retina resolution!

Quick update:

I ran GFXBench under OS X on my two machines:

Texture Test:

750M: 6882 MTexels/s
m370X: 18041 MTexels/s

What are you guys using to post pics on here these days? IMGUR? Im happy to post screenshots.

Nice, very excited to see some real comparisons to the 750m!

Wooooooo

I don't care how it actually does in the real world. That's an insane difference statistic wise though

I'm new to the MacBook Pro 15-inch. With the new discrete GPU pushing more fps, does it kill the battery life quicker? Thanks!

Update:

Blackmagic Disk Test:

Read: 1814 megs/sec
Write: 1507 megs/sec

You can feel the difference in the drive speed, and thats from using the current 2x PCIE interface. Another interesting note is the Force Touch on the 15" feels a little more precise then my Macbook. Makes me wonder if its not a slightly different trackpad due to the MBP having more room. The clicking sensation is uncanny.

That's amazing. The new SSD on it's own is very compelling.

How does the UI feel with that GPU? Is it faster / smoother than the 750m? (I notice some UI lag with 750M)

Generally yes.

Depends on ATIs switching capabilities between Intergrated and Dedicated GPUs compared to Nvidias.

I have some problems putting these results into perspective. According to GFXbench website, 750M scores 16000Mtexels/s in the onscreen test?

https://gfxbench.com/device.jsp?ben...+Edition&D=NVIDIA+GeForce+GT+750M+Mac+Edition

Same with these. When I compare Mac 750M results vs Windows 750M results and also 850M, 860M, it is all over the place. The Windows 750M scores 72.1fps in T-rex in GFXBench 3.0 but the Mac version scores 156.1fps? This doesn't make any sense whatsoever. Also, 850M results are way too low.

I'm not sure because I'm not that familiar with that site but I believe those are median numbers. There are DDR3 versions of the 750M as well out there. I would try to stick to comparing Apples to Apples... hehe

Not sure, Im not familiar with any of these Mac Benchmark tools at all. Ive always left it all up to 3D Mark with tools like Firestrike, 3DMark 11 or Vantage. I am installing Windows now, and will throw 3DMark on it to get a Firestrike score. That will tell us whats real, and everything else is kind of smoke.

Machine is very snappy in general. I copied the WOW folder (31 gigs) from a USB 3 thumb drive, and it took 2 minutes. Good heavens.

3DMark benchmarks here we come.

That might be, but 100% difference because of DDR3 vs DDR5? Thats way too much, unless we are talking about pure VRAM bandwidth tests... something is fishy here :(

Get us those Wow benchmarks ;P

Can you post a screenshot of GPU-Z? Then we could figure out what is actually in the M370X.

Waiting patiently! The curiosity is killing me :)

One thing to note, when the test was running on my 750M during that GFXBench test, I got a local notification on the system about updates (due to the OS X patch that came out.) I wonder if that borked the test or something. I had everything else closed locally.

I can post these scores via screen shot btw, I am capturing all the data just so the community can verify my claims are legit.

Thats a Windows tool only correct? We should definitely do that just so we know what we are dealing with from a cores/core clock speed/mem clock speed perspective.
