Does anyone know whether it will work on MacBook Pro 13' from 2015 with an Intel Iris graphic 6100? even though it is not officially supported, will it still be playable?

It will. I just bought the same model (could not wait for the new ones that long). It's around 25 fps on Bootcamp and benchmarking on Mac show about 5 less. It won't run pretty, but I expect it to be fully playable. The bigger issue is the two core processor - turn processing takes some time. Today evening going to play some more, on Mac, so I can post how it works.

I'm sure you can skip a few Starbucks.

Is $60 steep? It will provide days of entertainment. Compare that to $10+ movie tickets, or $6 Starbucks coffee.
Probably not going to buy the game myself as I don't have time to play it, but making such excuses for piracy is really lame.
For me, yes. It's because I will probably be playing it for a month max during the weekends. I will buy the game anyway. And no, I don't drink coffee :)

Whats the percentage of current macs that can't play this game? How expensive does your mac needs to be to play this game and future proof it?
I hope they learn from that.... NOT
Sigh

I have a 10-year-old nephew who's getting into Civ, and I'd like to be able to set up a local multiplayer game between us on different machines when he comes to visit during the holidays. Anyone know if this can be done on Civ 6 via Steam? I seem to recall hearing that in Civ 5 it could be done on the Mac App Store version.

Looks like the game is not optimized well...in totalbiscuit's video, even his nvidia 1080 suffers stuttering and less than 60 fps during late games

now to wait for pirate people to do their thing. #studentlife

Lol I'm working in a decent career and can't even afford half the stuff in your signature, but the game is what breaks the bank for you!!

P.S: word of advice, pirated games are always too problematic and have many bugs from experience, wait for the specials to come out or when price drops instead.

same here my iMac do have 1 gb(minimum requirement on steam) but its 750m. at its suggest 775m. but i was running it on my windows 10 bootcamp just fine on medium graphics, just load speeds on saved games where slow.. ill say it will work downloading it right know.
It works on lower hardware with Windows because Windows has DirectX, and game maker optimize to DirectX much better than OpenGL (macOS). So unless they built the thing in Metal (highly unlikely) then the minimum reqs are probably right and hardware that will run it in bootcamp may really struggle in macOS. But let us know how it goes.

Please don't steal a freaking video game, especially from a well-respected developer. If you have time to play it, you have time to make a little extra money fist to afford it. If you already have money, just buy it. Otherwise, put it on your Christmas wishlist. People like you are ruining the gaming industry and forcing developers to adopt pay-to-play or pay-to-win schemes.

Is it Jony Ive narrating in that trailer? ;)

It sounded like Sean Bean to me!

EDIT: Confirmation-- it is in fact Sean Bean.

How is this game? Been trying to play some games again, but they all lose my attention fast.

My 780m should tackle this well.

Personally, I love Civ; it's loads of fun, and games can take 6 or 10 hours before you even realise how long you've been playing. I'm not typically in to turn-based strategy games, but I like that there are lots of ways to play (not just militarily, also to build culture and expand borders non-violently, etc).

I can't say if it'll be your cup of tea, though...

Man I really want to play this... but I guess there's no way a Macbook Air 1.7ghz i7 is going to handle it. Hard to believe I can play RTS games like Starcraft II but not a turn based civ...

Plus I believe this has
I would agree with you if this would be an EA-game. But this game is brought to you by Aspyr, they're honest people, so please pay them the bucks they deserve. If you really can't afford it sell your Apple Watch, iPad pro, AT4 or iMac/MacBook.
Aspyr are awesome. And their customer service is great with them visiting multiple forums and even answering questions there for people. They come to macrumors all the time to help people with their question on their games. Something many companies would never do.

They put a lot of work to get the game in near launch which rarely happens with most mac ports.

If anything just buy it on sale. It is steam game so no matter who has the game on sale it will give you both PC and Mac copy in steam. Bet you will easily find it on sale by Christmas time.

Plus you won't have to worry about if the pirate version was injected with malware into its version.

Well, Starcraft II is older, and Blizzard are the kings when it comes to optimizing pretty games for low-end hardware.

I believe he narrates the whole game, in fact.

I have the same issue - it sucks because I was really hoping to get back into this after missing out on the last couple of versions (fave was Civ 2; played it way too much but still sucked at it...)

EDIT:

Starcraft II is still out there?
I don't have a Steam account yet (most of my gaming is on the PS4) but if Starcraft is there, I need to go sign up.

Can't wait to play it, but I'll wait a year for all the expansions to be bundled into a Steam summer deal for $40. Never buy the App store version because the multiplayer is usually gimped compared to the Steam version.
