I don’t take my laptop around everywhere. Big and bulky. It’s not that portable like a phone.
The steam deck is an elegant solution, allowing you to play nearly every game on steam

There shouldn’t be such predatory schemes for mobile gaming like windows regardless if it can be played and purchased elsewhere.
I won't disagree but that's not how the world works. At least if you buy something from steam, you can play it on windows, steam deck, Linux, or a Mac (if there's a mac version)

That’s a separate hand held device right? We’re taking about games for iPhone.

Again, we’re talk about iPhone games…

Actually we're talking about playing Civ 7, and the best way to play it - you said it yourself you don't like to buy the game multiple times - if you currently own on steam you have a way to play it with a mobile device - steam deck

You have to buy the steam deck. That’s, what? $400? And carry around another device. Having things play on the phone, that you already have to carry for calling and text, is better (if Apple didn’t poison mobile gaming).

Someone fill me in on why Civilization 7 is so bad compared to other version?

it takes the series in a really bizarre direction with some of its mechanics. you dont play as the same civilization through different ages, and there's these odd transitions between different parts of the game. the first time it happened to me i was just entirely put off and stopped playing. felt like the game was robbing me of continuity.

they're backpedaling and the latest update released in the last couple of days came with a description of how they're working on implementing the ability to keep the same civilization throughout a playthrough and that this major update is coming this spring.

it essentially felt like the devs chose to run with a new idea and instead of making it just an alternate way to play or a spin off, they made it a mainline title.

1, Laptop broken. 2, I own it. 3, This has to with gaming on iPhone which I can take with me unlike laptop. 4. There shouldn’t be such predatory schemes for mobile gaming like windows regardless if it can be played and purchased elsewhere.
Fair enough. I can’t really imagine playing civ on phone. On the tablet with the pen it could be really nice.

This is my opinion you’re whining about. You can move along.
No you are implying that there no interest titles while Arcade has a lot of indie gem and absolute original titles. Sure you are saying this is your personal opinion but your objective was to state it as a fact. There is a lot of love, innovation, passion in some Arcade titles, dev deserve more than comment like this. But hey we are on MacRumors ok

No, I didn’t have an “objective” and your sensitivity on this topic is doing a lot of work.
