so you're saying you wouldn't mind unsymmetrical bezels? for typing how do you think that would play out one side being further in than another...

The Moto X has asymmetrical bezels, and it has never been a problem. I never type in landscape mode... I either use swype with one thumb (faster than typing with some practice), and there is plenty of room to thumb type in portrait mode with a bigger screen. Really... when I type on my wife's 5s it fees very cramped compared to my Moto X. Since the iPhone 6 will have a bigger screen and alternate keyboards, I doubt most people will want to type in landscape mode anyway.

What exactly is the point of posting this comment on nearly every thread?

It's supposed to be "sarcasm" as there have been quite a few leaks lately.
Of course this doesn't count in the fact that there may have been far more leaks if they hadn't doubled down the security. Also nobody seems to care about the fact that the Mac Pro was a total surprise when it was presented, just like there hasn't been a single piece of information about the iWatch which is supposed to be going into production very soon. So yeah, that "sarcasm" isn't really the most sophisticated type... ;)

Excellent points. People don’t really even get the context of the quote: Cook would never suggest they’re going to be able to protect product leaks out of the global supply chain once they’re in production. It’s just not doable. Maybe implement a few changes to reduce them? Sure.

However, just like you pointed out - pre-production info is sometimes totally secretive: the nMP, any real details about the form factor/design of a wearable product, TV related development. Even software blind sided everyone as was pretty darn evident at the WWDC keynote!

It’s not about the items being manufactured that we’ll be able to buy in three months, it’s about strategic development and the long term product (hardware _and_ software) road map.

I'm loving this 'rumored' iPhone 6 and will replace both my iPhone 5C and 4S.

It's everything everyone said Apple would never do.

Isn't it around this time or was it in July that one of the Apple associate 's involving in the final test the iPhone 6 leaves it behind some where ? Maybe a bar or eating place.

Been saying this for years now...all Apple has to do to kill the Android hype is allow a bit more customization and release a bigger screen iPhone. By doing both, it kills off the 2 major points of Android differentiation.

Now the focus can turn to iOS's security, quality of apps, and easy software update process...the latter of which is still a nightmare for many Android users.

Yeah I don't think customization part is gonna happen.

To all those who continue to bring up Tim's "Doubling down on secrecy" statement a few years back now, I think you've missed the point of what secrecy he meant.

The secrecy that he spoke of was for completely new products. Absolutely no-one outside of Apple has any real idea what the iWatch looks like or will do. THAT 'S the secrecy he meant and he's kept his word! Secrecy for completely new things - who knew about Swift? No-one. Who knew about Continuity? No-one. Leaking obvious things like the next iPhone is easy, not a problem and a handy distraction to keep people away from looking into Apple's REAL secrets...

Exactly. Apple is still quite capable of keeping secrets surrounding new products in Cupertino. iWatch? Completely a blackhole. iPhone? It's probably impossible to do the same when you've got 100,000 people in China looking to make 50 million of these by Christmas - not without being completely totalitarian.

Wow a half inch taller than the 5S! That is HTC One territory. Looks like it will be disproportionate again if this is it, and I think it is. The Moto X is the ideal proportion for a 4.7 screen.

What do you mean by "disproportionate again"? iPhone has always been proportional (top vs bottom bezel, left vs right).

Yeah I don't think customization part is gonna happen.

Many features can be customized in iOS 8. What else do you want? At least, I can give up the jailbreak now. It's too much **** and caused my phone run damn slow.

The round design reminds me of the original iPhone. I'm not a fan of the plastic strips either and probably would have preferred the glass panels instead.

I know I know your all tired of hearing this.

But the 4.7" seems like the perfect size! It looked nice when he picked it up. But then the 5.5" just looked plain awkward. Also if they do make a 5.5" it will have superior specs then the 4.7" or have certain features it has only :(

My wish and bet is they only release a 4.7"

COME AT ME!!!

:apple:

5.5" looks plain awkward? Not really...
