"[N]ot only in black and white, but also in two other unspecified colors..."

Great. Pink and teal are what I've been wanting. :roll eyes:

I'm sure it will look good in person. Jony Ive and his team know what they are doing.
Agreed.

I think this is bogus, Apple should be well aware that the iPhone 4 form is slowly getting a bit long in the tooth and will make a more radical design makeover. :apple:

Can't wait to buy one and be rid of my Symbian mess-of-a-phone.

How does the back of the phone tell you what the bezel/screen size on the front of the phone will look like? Unless you're assuming the center "panel" shown here mimics the screen size on the front.

I'd assume that, I think it'd look a bit odd otherwise.

A lot of people on this forum said the same thing about the resigned iPhone 4.

I'll wait to see it in my hands to pass final judgement - but I like it so far.

Personally I don't like it, but I was one of those who was very skeptical of the iPhone 4 before it came out and now I love that design, so I'll wait and see. There's always a chance that even if it's objectively ugly, putting an Apple logo on it will fool me into liking it...

Looks like this thing is coming out at the end of June...

Guess fall will be the 7" iPad release then.

No, it's not coming out in June. Apple hasn't even released a beta of iOS 6 (which will take months to reach the final version). They haven't released a new iPhone without a new OS ever.

Where's the antenna?

Where is the antenna in this prototype? Is it on the outside, and will the bare metal of the antenna be touching the skin of the person holding it (like on the iPhone 4 and 4S)?

Could be one of several designs Apple is considering. I bet 80% of the people here not liking it will buy it and love it. Stop fronting.

You need to see this in proper lighting and completed form to appreciate the design.

Same thing happened with the iPhone 3G back plate that was leaked and looked hideous, and the iPhone 4 leak didn't really paint that phone in the best light either.

Two-tone back is kind of an eyesore. :/

Hopefully it's not a permanent part of the design. If it's not two different materials, why introduce a visual "seam" where there needn't be one? (One of my favorite aspects of Apple's design sensibility is seamless/unibody.)

Also, looks like my dream of tapered edges will remain just that.

Not sure I like the lack of uniformity on the back.

That said, it doesn't look like a bad design, but I'd much rather pass judgement after seeing the phone as a whole or assembled.

That looks like it might be a unibody enclosure. If so, it would definitely be very sturdy.

Maybe it's not a "radical redesign" but come on... how do you radically redesign a rectangle? It may just get more minimalist by going unibody...

Very Interesting...

Reminds me a little of something I've seen before...... Trying to remember just exactly what it was..... Just on the tip of my brain here...... GAH! what am I trying to think of her, OH WAIT! THAT'S IT!!!

Sweet. Thirty five grand on a 2012 and I'm going to have to give BMW another $100 to make my new iPhone work with my car. Cannot win.

Also looks like the headphone port is on the bottom too with all of the new found space from a shrunken dock connector.

The headphone jack on the bottom is... odd.

The headphone jack on the bottom makes the most sense from a usability standpoint.

When I listen to music and use my iPhone 4 at the same time, the cord gets in the way of the screen sometimes because of the fact that the headphone jack is at the top. Put the headphone jack on the bottom, and this is no longer an issue.

Also, think about how you put it in your pocket while listening to music. I always put my phone in my pocket top down when not using headphones, so that when I reach in and grab it and hold it up the phone is in the right orientation. If using headphones the top of the phone is up in my pocket soas to not bind up the headphones, but if I reach in and grab it I have to reorient it so that it's correct.
