No, it's not coming out in June. Apple hasn't even released a beta of iOS 6 (which will take months to reach the final version). They haven't released a new iPhone without a new OS ever.

Agreed, but they haven't released a new iPhone in October ever, oh wait...;)

Why do you want tapered edges? It makes the device harder to hold.

Flat edges provide a nice grip area so it doesn't slip out of your hand easily.
Just a personal preference not couched in the design's visual appeal at all. The 90 degree edges of the 4/4S fatigue my hand easily, especially when holding the phone to my face. However, I can hold the 3GS/iPad 2/new iPad for long periods of time without any adverse effects. (Haven't tried the iPad to my face, of course. ;)) Either I'm holding it incorrectly *cymbal crash* or I prefer the grip afforded by rounded/tapered edges.

The theme tune for the release of the next iPhone should the The Feeling's "Same Old Stuff".

I like the original iPhone looking design and I prefer the headphone jack on the bottom as I always put my phone in my pocket upside down.

Here's a super quick mockup I did with the leaked rear camera and dock connector/ headphone jack highlighted!

So where would that leave the millions who upgraded to the iPhone 4S?

With a top of the line smartphone. And the same place it leaves previous generation iPhone owners every year a new iPhone is released. Technology is moving FAST, and Apple knows this, and will do what it takes to stay ahead of the curve.

The headphone jack on the bottom makes the most sense from a usability standpoint.

When I listen to music and use my iPhone 4 at the same time, the cord gets in the way of the screen sometimes because of the fact that the headphone jack is at the top. Put the headphone jack on the bottom, and this is no longer an issue.

Now put your device in your pocket without needing to rotate it. On the top was a smart move originally - I always loathed devices with the port on the bottom.

I hope this about finding leak sources, because it's ugly (and for reference, I liked the iPhone 4 straight away). Sadly I'm ready to upgrade, and am hoping for NFC and LTE, both of which outweigh a crap look. :/

"ewe yuck!

apple won't sell anything with seams in it!"

"im not buying it" -says the apple fanatic camping for the new iphone :D

I think the back looks good, just not sure about the tones. The headphone jack at the bottom makes sense to me. It's better placement for the cord IMO, i think it would be easier to see the screen in my arm band upside down and easier to navigate. Just my opinion. I think it looks good, I'm very excited. Just wish they would add free turn by turn!

Not a fan of the speaker grills, but hey, maybe that would grow on me. The middle section looks nice and I wouldn't be surprised if the new MacBook Pros use this "aluminum alloy" and darker gray color. They would look sweet!
Also, one can only assume that if that is the black iPhone, the white would use the same light gray silver for its metal portion of the backing since it is closer to white. I doubt there will be a true white aluminum alloy.
As for the two other color options, I'd say that's doubtful.

Also, I would bet its design mimics the new MacBook Pros. Flat sides, slightly curved back (top lid).

(The black bars on the back are likely the same size of the new bezel on front [goodbye side bezel) and could be made of glass to carry the front's design to the back)

Well, if this is the next iPhone, I am getting 4S right now. ...kidding

But I hope it won't have the rear panel with colors divided as pictured, it feels so Androidish. As long as it has a display with 3:2 aspect ratio and rear panel with single color design, I am not complaining. The smaller Dock Connector will be a Pain in the A** though, because so far I enjoyed the cable compatibility between all my iPods, iPhones + loads of other Apple iStuff and an adaptor just doesn't cut it for me.
God, how I hope it is NOT a micro-usb!

I didn't like the look of iPhone 4 when it surfaced, which in the end it turned out to be very nice . Neither do I like this, but this time I may give it a chance before judging it.

I like the look of that. Really need to see the screen with it but it does look bigger.

iOS6 maps and other things is going to make this a killer phone it seems.

ETA: Don't like that white. The black one looks wider but looking at the white mock up it looks taller.
Wish they could put it next to an iPhoe4/4s for better measurments

good point. They should wait until 2 years after the last person buys a 4s before they update.

keeping their 4s for another year?

releasing it within 1 year from the last launch

It's like saying that it's logical to release the iPhone every 6 months. No it's not. You're also adding in the third phone that developers have to test - assuming Apple does retire the 3GS.

Wake up! It was already leaked weeks ago, same time with the mini-dock-connector:

You are able to calculate the phones width from the photo, because you know the size of the 3,5mm headphone jack, and that mini-coax connector.

Great idea!

Want to bring up the idea, that the black frame of the screen on the front should be as big as the black stripes on the back. otherwise the front would not match the optics of the back

How big is the screen then, taking your idea into account, too?

Well, when I saw the iPhone 4 on Gizmodo I said it would be an instant buy for me if it was a real device from Apple - and it turned out to be real.

But from what I can see from these pictures, this is just ugly.

They went with the taller design from the looks of it in those new pictures posted. :(
