Nope. No drop protection.Do skins offer any sort of drop protection? I'm thinking of going skin + AppleCare this time around but as much as I try to prevent it, my toddlers run off with my phone and drop it every few weeks.

Xtreme Skins are absolutely brilliant. Lee is always helpful and looks after his customers. I moved from Slickwraps after they messed me around about 4-5 years ago. Took 2 months to get my order. Ive been using Xtreme Skins since iPhone 8 and their clear matt skins are top notch. Rocking one on 12 Pro Pacific Blue and will be ordering some for 12 Pro Max.

I had overlapping issue too but they sent me replacement and they were perfect fit. I never buy gloss.I put the Matt one on my pacific blue the weekend. Didn’t like it. I also had the gloss sides and the joins overlapped and looked terrible. Also there were marks underneath the glossy bits when on the phone so not clear at all. Looked like the glue.
Not really. You’re going to want a case with mischievous toddlers.Do skins offer any sort of drop protection? I'm thinking of going skin + AppleCare this time around but as much as I try to prevent it, my toddlers run off with my phone and drop it every few weeks.
It's not necessarily a dry installation, you can use water and a little bit of soap, I always do that if they don't include a spray liquid.I'm surprise no one posted any picture of a clear skin yet... I received the Slickwraps Matte Naked on Friday and installed it on my iPhone 12. As far as I can tell, it's a dry install and once your fingerprint is on the adhesive side, it's pretty much there permanently (look at lower bottom). Honestly dislike that it is a "texture" matte skin and not a smooth clear matte.
The camera lens protector is from Pulen (purchased from Amazon, came with the screen protectors).
I probably had better experience with the so-called "hydrogel" matte screen protectors from Aliexpress or eBay, but those just take too long to ship.

I purchased both matte and gloss from both Slickwraps and Extremeskins... Unfortunately, I didn't take pics of all of them along the way, I probably should have.
Slickwraps Gloss - I didn't like it at all. Too slippery and just didn't dry right or look good.
Slickwraps Matte - Excellent fit and cut, just enough texture to add grippyness. Only reason I took it off was because without the apple cutout you couldn't see the apple logo at all. (Not a big deal, but since Extremeskins has it that way I wanted to try that.)
Extremeskins Gloss - same as Slickwraps.. just very slippery and didn't dry right. I'd rather go with a tempered glass back but couldn't find any that went all the way around the camera.
Extremeskins Matte - Thats what I have on now, for now.. The cutout around the camera isn't as good as the Slickwraps was, but it does have the Apple logo cutout. I just put it on last night so its not fully dry yet, assuming it dries as well as the slickwraps matte did I'll end up keeping this one on for a while.
The pics are of the Extremeskins Matte w/ cutout. I used a wet application for all, both Slickwraps and Extremeskins sent their version of the solution with the skins.
His long did it take to receive your slickwraps? I’m hearing inordinately long wait times.I'm surprise no one posted any picture of a clear skin yet... Does the matte require using the wet solution or is it self stick? I too am primarily concerned about the stainless steel sides getting scratched - especially around the lighting port - and looking for a good option just for that. The phone will be in a silicone a apple case but from previous experience, sometimes little particles can get in and scratch.I have installed xtreme skins clear matte around the camera and on the stainless steel sides on my 12 pro max. Looks awesome. And no more fingerprints. I go caseless.
This skin doesn’t protect the edges. Aren’t you concerned that it will peel off more easily in the pocket?I purchased both matte and gloss from both Slickwraps and Extremeskins... Unfortunately, I didn't take pics of all of them along the way, I probably should have.

Same! I’ve used them in the past for my previous iPhones and it offered protection. I was hoping they would make the pieces like how they did for the iPhone 4/4s/5 and I was excited to get it, but nope, and no replies on my email as well.I used to use them. I emailed about the iPhone 12 and they never responded.
any pics of the previous matte back skin? I really don't want the weird matte texture ive been seeing with a lot of these. More subtle and not like leather would be best.Xtreme Skins are absolutely brilliant. Lee is always helpful and looks after his customers. Do you by chance know if these are compatible with cases? How much thickness does the clear skin add?I'm surprise no one posted any picture of a clear skin yet...
