I just installed the xTremeSkins matte back skin and going to let it dry for a couple of days but I’m disappointed.

It’s not precisely cut to just the back glass and overlaps the edges of the stainless steel frame. I don’t know if that’s going to cause lifting in the future because it’s not one continuous piece where the back glass meets the stainless steel frame, and because the skin is not precisely cut, I think there’s going to be an air pocket all around the edges.
Have you contacted XtremeSkins to let them know? I suspect they would send you a replacement skin.

Based on this post #35 , it seems like that's how XtremeSkins cut them, which is rather disappointing and doesn't look as clean.
I contacted XtremeSkins letting them know about the issue. I have not received my order yet and when I do I will pay close attention to how well the skin fits.

The glossy Sopiguard looks pretty good. I've had mine on for a couple weeks and the air bubbles were all gone in about a week. It didn't fully adhere adjacent to the camera cutout but maybe that's an install issue. It doesn't bother me. The other thing is that the glossy makes it really tough to align the sides in application. I got it pretty good but even the slightest offset can make you feel the edges of the skin when swiping. After two weeks I don't notice it anymore but I remember being annoyed by it at first.

I usually always apply a skin to my iPhones but since I haven't had a new one in 4 years I suppose I was out of practice.

The phone definitely feels less premium than naked but that's an obvious observation. I'll keep it on.

The magsafe wallet strength feels basically the same as naked but now I don't often get the visual indication on the phone of successful mount.

Do you have photos of the back and sides with the SopiGuard installed? I got the matte version, and used a wet install, but after 1 week, it was still horrible, albeit not as bad as after the initial 1st day, but still.

Also, do you think it's compatible with cases?

I purchased both matte and gloss from both Slickwraps and Extremeskins... Unfortunately, I didn't take pics of all of them along the way, I probably should have.

Slickwraps Gloss - I didn't like it at all. Too slippery and just didn't dry right or look good.
Slickwraps Matte - Excellent fit and cut, just enough texture to add grippyness. Only reason I took it off was because without the apple cutout you couldn't see the apple logo at all. (Not a big deal, but since Extremeskins has it that way I wanted to try that.)

Extremeskins Gloss - same as Slickwraps.. just very slippery and didn't dry right. I'd rather go with a tempered glass back but couldn't find any that went all the way around the camera.
Extremeskins Matte - Thats what I have on now, for now.. The cutout around the camera isn't as good as the Slickwraps was, but it does have the Apple logo cutout. I just put it on last night so its not fully dry yet, assuming it dries as well as the slickwraps matte did I'll end up keeping this one on for a while.

The pics are of the Extremeskins Matte w/ cutout. I used a wet application for all, both Slickwraps and Extremeskins sent their version of the solution with the skins.
Hey dude, drop the team an email and you can request the logo to be cutout. We even have the option to select that on our site.

Out of curiosity, how do they adhere to the frosted back on my 11 Pro Max? I've tried others and not so good.

Could you next time zoom further out in that install video ?

This will arrive tomorrow, will let you know how I get along. Oh, yes I’m one of those people that still has the plastic protector film on my Italian sofas and chairs. 😂😭

I received my XtremeSkins order for a clear glossy sides and clear matte for the back. I not observe the issue you had with the skin I received. Did have to remove the back skin as the phone was getting hot with it on.

Wait, the phone got hot with the back matte skin installed? WTF

I haven’t had a chance to use the phone as I’ve been letting it sit idle for a couple days for the air bubbles to disappear, but this has me worried. I don’t see any other people reporting this hot issue.

xTremeSkinz sent me another set and after installation, it was the same issue of imprecise cutting.

do you have photos of your installation?

I just reordered the matte clear camera skin from xtremeskinz. This time I will attempt the wet install. Hopefully it will avoid lint issues.
Just want to follow up with my second order and attempt with XtremeSkinz matte. Following the suggestion from Alpi123 to do a wet install, I can say I’m impressed with the result.

My purpose for the skin is not for looks but for preservation. I sell my iPhone on a two year schedule and I’m able to recoup a significant amount so long as the phone is still in pristine condition.

I have the phone in the Apple silicone case. As a result, I was looking to invest in a skin for the area surrounding the camera lenses, and and the SS sides to protect from blemishes.

The xtremeskiz is excellent. Upon using the included solution, I was able to get the camera film cutout applied perfectly on the first try. It looks awesome and the best part is not having to incessantly wipe the exposed shiny surface that was prone to smudges and fingerprints natively. It looks sweet too!

The film pieces for the SS surround were also a precise fit and easily applied. Being in the case, however, they are specifically for protection and unexposed.

The only caveat I have is that the pieces not meant to be used (ie. the camera lenses and speaker holes) should already be removed from the backing since they can be a PITA to remove from the film itself.

Great product overall.

Glad everything went smooth.

Regarding the cutout pieces, I personally like that they didn't remove the cutouts for the buttons, because I want to protect them as well. Another, slightly OCD reason, is that using a skin alone makes the buttons more flush to the body, so you can't feel them as easily, so if you put a skin on the button as well, they become normal height again.

I only wish Xtremeskins would actually take their time and make the button skins fit more precisely, since they're currently not supposed to be used and they're bigger than the buttons themselves, so the fit is off.

Can someone in the US let me know how billing works for Xtremeskins? Do you end up paying in pounds and get charged a conversion fee by your bank/card? Thanks!

I know this is an older post, but was it just bubbles that needed to dry or did the skin have a haziness to it as well in places before it completely dried?

I’m actually thinking about going the skin route also. I think they will do well protecting against scratches just like the Apple case does .. but you get the real feel of the phone … plus with Apple care plus I think it will be good… my question though will the MagSafe charger ruin the skin , or make a ring indentation on it ?? Back when I had the 3g and the original iPhone I always used skins with no issue , I actually got hooked on the skins during that time from itsmemorphious
