Saw this earlier today, looks pretty good if you got coverage. only for iOS device only. So ipad should be working well.

How in the world can they tell whether it's an iOS device or not?
Plus, MiFi devices are supposed to be used with up to 5 clients.

And also, Clear has very poor 4G coverage. That may change in the future. Still, this is a great opportunity to get the device at a very low price, try it, then opt to wait until coverage improves or use it as needed.

I'm staying with my AT&T Unlimited 3G Plan for now...

It would appear that they are MAC locked to only iDevices. I'm sure it would be possible to work around that restriction, but personally I couldn't tell you how to do it. I've never spoofed a MAC address on a laptop before.

I bought one of these yesterday for their holiday sale. I was on the phone and I asked if it would work with my MacBook Pro (June 2009). She put my on hold and then came back and said yes it would work. However, I still am not convinced. I'll have to see when it gets here. They have posted a list of MAC address that it will work with. How do I look to find my MAC address on my MacBook Pro?

I just remembered I saw this a few days ago. I wonder how reliable it still is after this unlock?

I used the method from http://ispotunrestricted.com/ after I got my first iSpot purchased on the first day of release, and it is working just fine.

I bought a second iSpot this time around and will report back after I try HTTP://ISPOTUNRESTRICTED.COM/2.0/

If you have 4G coverage, this is really a valuable internet solution.

UPDATE: The modification, above, works flawlessly. And, it's easy enough for a newbie to do!

So I got my iSpot in December when it was only $20, it was working perfect on my MacBook Pro until a couple days ago. Now it looks like it was updated over the air and it now won't load internet with my MacBook Pro. So I am looking into that ISPOTUNRESTRICTED and it looks easy and everything. Just curious if you know of any security holes because I know in the first release there was one hole and people said not to use it. Also the little update they must have sent it did not update the firmware or anything so I assume this method will still work. Thoughts?
