Yes, but they'd have to have bought an Apple Watch first. How many people who bought the AW, would be Coach buyers also?
apple watch has a lot of professional age women that have bought it in asia. this is targeting that type of demographic. the same ladies that own coach bags.

This watch band thing is the first time I have been truly embarrassed to promote Apple.
No matter how good their phones, macs, and more are....
..The watchband marketing belittles the entire operation.

It concerns me that the marketing for macs and phones earns the same passion that the watchbands do.
Does Apple really see the watchbands and the computers as the same achievement of industry ?

For the first time in more than 15 years, my faith in Apple is seriously weakening.

Apple: For the love of God, all creatures great and small... NEVER mention a watchband again.
Sell them, but never mention them.

It.Must.Stop.
this is a coach product, not apple. it's like cases made for your iPhone. why would yo care if watch bands made for fashion conscious women appeals to you or not? i think it's cool that there's more style options for watch, the more the better. just like cases.

What a bunch of morons on this site.

Those are *not* Apple products, they're made by a third party, and that's a great thing. It means the Apple Watch is the only wearable device with an hardware ecosystem, quite an achievement for a nascent sector.

If you're not interested, then don't comment. You look like elder people yelling at what they don't understand.
seriously, i can't believe people are moaning about this. these are designed and made by COACH. it's just like phone cases. These look pretty good to as I have lots of female friends that would like them. The more fashion options for apple watch the better IMHO. you're not supposed to like all of them. that's the point of fashion. Geeks on this site thinking they look horrendous probably is a good sign fashion wise LOL.

Yes, but they'd have to have bought an Apple Watch first. How many people who bought the AW, would be Coach buyers also?

I'd bet Coach's market research firm knows the answer to that question and is why they are dabbling -- it's just a limited run. Cost to Coach is probably next to nill and gins up tons of free publicity.

But you are wrong, they don't have to have bought the AW first. They could be attracted to the band and then buy the watch.

Also the Hermes buyer isn't too far away from the Coach buyer. Are people buying the high fashion Hermes watches and bands? I haven't seen a press release from Hermes saying they are exiting the partnership so they must be getting something out of it.

Sorry, but never heard of Coach.
Do hope that Apple come up with something a bit more exciting than new watch bands. Can't believe after all these years of watching Apple releases of new kit a lot of which I buy they have really become boring. TC to blame and no big surprise. Shame but can't see any change until TC gets the boot.

Lipstick on a pig.

Or maybe even pig on pig depending on your taste. Truthfully, I think "pig" is a big strong. Basset hound maybe. I love dogs, but I prefer mine a bit more ready at the draw. As for a Coach band, not my bag. There belts are nice though.

this is advertising paid by coach disguised as mac news. I don't blame MacRumors, if they would need to wait for Tim, it will be a blank web site for months at the time

LOL!

Honestly, the Apple watch is so brutally ugly, no man with his testicles still attached should be wearing that lame crap.

How so? Every watch I've ever owned since I was 8 had a band. The iPhone was the first phone (I owned several Palm smartphones before 2007) I ever bought a case for. I think a band is more essential to a watch than a case to a phone, yet Apple and 3rd parties market those accessories. Why is a band different?

The AW itself need help -- a reboot even. I say this as an AW owner. It has good features and useless ones but mostly the apps take too long to open to be useful. Too many big screen apps repurposed for a small screen. No GPS, etc, etc.

But the band? Honestly, that is probably one of the cooler, more practical things about AW if you've ever tried to replace a traditional pin band or adjust a link bracelet. It's a lot more useful than a $.10 rubber backing for your iPhone or iPad sold for $30-60.

Coach wants to generate traffic in their stores. Watch sales amount to very little revenue.

and to repeat...who cares

You people don't understand. A $5 band selling for hundreds of dollars = serious profit margin for Apple. Get used to it. This is no different than $100 for each iPhone RAM increase, or utilization of slave labor to assemble their products. This is your Apple.

We don't understand? Did you read the story? This is not an Apple product, nor marketed by Apple.

Seriously, people don't get it. Why are they complaining about THIRD PARTY watch bands? Apple didn't take time out of designing other products to make these because they are from another company. It seems that reading comprehension must be a little lacking on this article.
