Each to their own. Shrink's Law and all of that...

For me, it is a French press for preference for ease of use and strength and quality of coffee, (or a Hario ceramic drip if I only want one cup), followed by espresso in my Bialetti moka pot…..

Glad I'm not the only coffee lover here :)

Drip coffee making is probably one of the best ways to prepare coffee, IMO. Although it may take a bit longer.

That appalling banal observation does at least confirm my genuine experience that those Nespresso capsules are a) tasteless at best and b) very expensive. The machine in our office is gathering thick layers of dust.

Oh, heaven's, yes, agreed. Not really a fan of Nespresso, although it is nice to see it in hotel rooms as it is a marked improvement on the instant coffee that was more usually available…..

Please, don't buy Kopi Luwak.
But not because of the taste, but you should know that most Kopi Luwak is made with cats living in small metal cages and are force fed with coffee beans. I'm sure Youtube has some videos about it. So drinking Kopi Luwak is like wearing fur. And -for me- this is completely unacceptable.

Well, there is fur and there other forms of using animal pelts and products derived from animals.

Anyway, as someone who is not a vegetarian, I have no quarrel with wearing sheepskin, or leather, either as shoes or as a jacket; both are made form animal skins, but neither animal (that is, neither sheep nor cattle) are likely to expire into extinction any time soon.

Yes, I will readily concede that some rare and beautiful animals should not be hunted or killed for their pelts.

The Kopi Luwak is a different thing entirely, and may rank with paté; I have had both, the former as a gift.

Well, it may take a little longer to make than instant coffee does, but it is really a reasonably quick way - the quickest I know of - to make real filter coffee.

Has anyone here seen, explored, sampled, or been tempted by some of the terrific (and yes, ever so slightly expensive) offerings from the wonderful Italian people in La Marzocco?

Their insanely beautiful GS/3 remains a favourite of mine, and I must say that I absolutely love the look of their recent coffee maker, the Linea Mini…..
