Very easy to clean, I just rinse off the "gold" filter and Filter basket after each use. (30 seconds)

What about the grinder?

Edit: Oh, I see it doesn't have a grinder, nevermind.

I really like the name and description of this coffee!

Lazy Sunday
This isn’t knock-your-socks-off, drag-you-awake coffee. This is coffee for lie-ins and Sunday papers, for lazy mornings with your feet on the sofa.

I think I'm eying one of the Cuisinart models, I think the wife wants to buy it for me for Father's day, which I can't complain.

There's this model

But I'm partial to this one as the coffee containment device is insulted, so there's no hot plate to make the coffee taste stale.

If that's what you're looking at, I'd go for the second one, without the hot plate, just for the reason you state, to keep it from going stale - or getting burnt.

Your point on the insulated carafe vs a hot plate is excellent. Having the coffee "cooking" on the hot plate is not so good.

Gentle hints to your wife might be in order.:D

The best coffee I've been making lately is hand-grinding using the Hario ceramic coffee mill, Hario ceramic cone filter with unbleached paper and using beans bought at Starbucks.

It's a little bit of a process, but sure is good.

The wife got me for Fathers day a coffee maker

I'm enjoying my first cup this morning, a little premature but I ran out of the k-cups so she gave it to me a early.

The coffee is a little weak, I'll have to buy some stronger grounds and put more into the maker - I did 9 of those little spoonfuls (the small included measuring spoon) and its still a tad weak.

Congratulations on the new coffee maker, and happy Fathers Day!

Looks like a nice one too.

Thanks, I'm happy, and I look forward to better cups of coffee as time goes on :p

One benefit to using drip coffee over the k-cups is I can pour as much coffee as my mug will hold
:D

Speaking of coffee, it's time for me to get out of bed and make my first cup of the day!

I have to have two coffee makers. One is a Bunn Coffee Maker. Makes a pot without any wait. The Bunn coffee makers keep a potful of water hot inside. When you pour water in, coffee comes out as fast as you pour it in. And of course, my Keurig. Can't live without it. Sometimes, I need just one cup.

Today isn't a work day so I was able to sleep in! Otherwise I would have been up for about 2 hours as well.
I get up at 5:00am, regardless of what time. I actually enjoy it on the weekends more then sleeping in. It gives me a little "me" time before the thundering herd wakes up

My wife will still use the Keurig, since her coffee needs a less then mine. I'm looking to save a good deal of money on my coffee now that I've moved beyond the single serving model

I think you either need more coffee or less... :p

I fully appreciate the 'me time' need. Good for me, my 'me time' is always when I am home.

I'm finishing up my first cup right now. It's such a wonderful taste in the morning. ☕

Congrats on the new coffee maker!

And Happy Father's Day, Dad!:D

I, too, am up by 5:00AM whether I need to be up for work or not. Really stinks!

As you mentioned...a darker roast and a bit more grinds in the machine should help make it a bit stronger.

Enjoy your coffee...:D

Who are the maniacs masquerading as cherished and dear friends who write of this alien experience - namely, leaping out of bed at 5 a.m.? Who are these maniacs and what have you done with my friends?

Yes, of course, I have done this. Yes, I am even able to do it. However, I cannot recall a single, solitary occasion in my entire life when I did so willingly, enthusiastically, or eagerly……..

On the topic of espresso, I have had several already today; all singles, all served exquisitely in little porcelain espresso cups, and all consumed - nay devoured - with avid greed………

Trust me, at least in my case, it is NOT by choice!

I awaken somewhere between 4:30AM and 5:30AM whether I like it or not. And just lying in bed, wide awake, drives me nuts!

I, too, have just finished my second morning doppio (fancy nonsense for a double shot!:p)...served to me (by me!) in a double walled glass Bodum cup and consumed slowly and with extreme pleasure!;) :D
