I lost over a ¼ of a mile on my last run on :apple:Watch because of this. It is hard to Force Touch and then Tap Resume while looking for traffic, crossing a street and being fatigued. Hope Apple adds auto pause soon.

Easy fix! Don't stop! ;)

I hate stopping for traffic/lights so if i get to a junction and can't cross to carry straight on because of cars either turn left or right and continue running down the side road then cross when its clear and come back on myself and continue going straight or if its a dodgy road and should really cross at the junction then i run down the road a bit and run back, keep doing that until the lights change. :D

Apple watch has blown me away, honestly! Heavy use all day from 6am! Did a 1 hour workout with Bluetooth headphones at 7pm! It's now 9pm and my battery is still 45%!!!!

In relation to workout, Apple watch tracked my distance and heart rate exactly the same as the treadmill sensors and the calories were a tiny bit off but I never added my weight etc into the treadmill! I'm so happy with the accuracy and battery!

An even better option for me would be to use allow pressing the side button to pause the workout, rather than bringing up Friends. Alternatively, they could make it a double-click that pauses, because I doubt I'll be using Apple Pay in the middle of my runs.

Did a 6 miler today (and a killer speed for me, especially considering almost 1100' vertical) and my calibrated :apple:Watch read 5.92 miles. That is only about a 2% difference. Also the HR average was exactly the same at 153 bpm.

How tightly do you wear your apple watch so that it shows very accurate heart rate reading?

I tighten my Sport band up 1 hole (snugish) and I push the :apple:Watch up my arm a couple of mm (⅓ to ½ inch) from where I normally wear it.

I do the same. I've logged dog walks with the band looser, but for runs I keep it more snug just to make sure I get the most accurate HR data for calorie burn purposes.

Just did a 2 hour outdoor cycle.

Distance, ave speed, and heart rate all matched prior recordings I had on the same route using a HR strap.

I was not on a paved path and did not notice any haptic notifications during the ride. Maybe Apple shuts them off for safety reasons but I definitely had notifications during the ride. The trail was a bit bumpy so maybe I just didn't notice them even though I have prominent haptic turned on.

I checked HR at the top of various hills and it matched what I expected.

Distance tracked very accurately (I had my iPhone with me) but I don't think there is any calibration going on for cycling.

So the AW continues to work well as a fitness accessory. I just hope Apple enhances the workout/activity reporting with future releases.

Edit: Battery went from 91% to 64%. About 13-14% points per hour with workout app on.

So I learned if you reset and pair your AW again and even if you restore from a backup you lose your calibration.

So I had to recalibrate my AW for outside runs.

Now that I have done a couple of runs is seems very accurate. The only issue is Pace during the run seems to almost always be too slow. The final Pace that is shown after stopping and saving the run is accurate. I think Apple needs to fix or fine-tune the Pace averaging calc during the run. Otherwise, it works well.
