Went to the Apple store again today. The guy came out and said he was going to hand everyone who wanted a ticket just one ticket. And then once everyone who wanted one got one, he would go back through the line and give another ticket to anyone who wanted to buy a second.

they only got Verizon models in, but still...that seems like a great idea. Iunno if this is normal, but it didnt happen the first time i waited in line there.

The is 1 ipad2 black 64gb left at my local walmart for $699. I was looking for the 32gb, so I passed on this one. The online tracker says its unavailable, but if there is a walmart near you you just should just go there and try your luck.

Is it just me or did any one of you have any problems with the accuracy of inventory checker these past 4 or 5 days?

I'm asking because doing a check using the online tracker, it seems like both my local Target & BestBuy stores are showing up as in stock for a few of the iPad 2 configs (Wifi only & Wifi + AT&T 3G models). However, I've personally visited the stores 2-3 times these last 4-5 days to check & my local Target store did not have any iPad 2 at all while my local BestBuy store had only got a couple of the Verizon 3G models, which I do not want. :( I even went to a few BestBuy & Target stores further away from my home yesterday & all I got were the same results. :(

I got to admit that this is really the best experience I've ever had of buying anything. :D Maybe I'm just damn lucky or I'm just a complete FAIL to still be searching for one at a local B&M store after 10 weeks of looking for an iPad 2! :D

Apple Stores seem to be better stocked lately. I got an 64GB ATT Black from the Apple Store in Santa Monica on 5/13 and the Apple employee who came out with the tickets had a HUGE stack of them. Reports are coming in that it is becoming easier and easier to get one at the Apple Store, especially the larger ones who get more stock.

As much as I would have loved to purchase Best Buy and use my Reward Zone certificates, I just don't have that kind of patience and tenacity.

I know what you mean.

Unfortunately, the Apple store is about 45-50 minutes from me & I don't want to risk taking the chance to make the trip only to end up going there on a day when they don't have the exact model that I'm looking for. :) Furthermore, the light bleeding "fiasco" has not been totally resolved yet. So if I'm to get one with bad backlight bleeding (which seems highly likely at this point in time), I'll have to make the same round trip again for an exchange or even just for a refund, which just wastes more of my time & gas money. :(

Ideally, I would like to purchase one at a local B&M store. The reason is that if I get one with light bleeding issues, I'm not going to go to the Apple store for an exchange, but I'll just return for a refund & then make another purchase when the local stores do & when they have the same exact model in stock again. :D
