I am not sure I know what sort of center console popup you're referring to?

I have a Grand Cherokee that has a separate lid on hop of the center console that pops up to reveal a smaller space for things like a phone, coins, pens etc. it also has a USB port for charging and connection to the stereo. That's where I keep my iPhone 5 when I'm driving. Too small for the plus plugged into the USB.

I just made an honest mistake yesterday morning when I woke up and ordered the phone while I was getting ready for work. Then, when I got into my car I realized, uh-oh, I don't think the plus is going to fit. So, I called VZW and did a cancel or exchange for a regular 6. I would have taken the plus if they said no, and just sold it on eBay, but they said it was no problem canceling. My card hadn't even been charged. Hopefully it's 1 extra out there for somebody that really wants it.

I drive a Ford Raptor. It'll fit fine.

I ordered an iPhone 6+ this morning and didn't think much of it except that I like the fact that I could see it better and I have large hands.

I ran across that .pdf print-out of the phone, made one, took it out to my vehicle and it won't fit the center console pop-up for my phone, USB port.

I called Verizon and had them cancel my order for the plus and order a regular iPhone 6. It works better for ME. Y'all better check your interior stuff if that's a concern.

Waddya thinkin' ?

That sucks....Im not concerned with that in my car. When i bought my new car I was thinking i wouldn't care about NAV because i have NAV on my iPhone but I use all the features on my car (2014 Toyota Corolla S) much more than my phone. As long as its linked through the app I just use voice commands through my car.

I think it's a good point you raise.

I'm in the UK and I currently have one of these for my 5S: http://www.jmldirect.com/uk/housewares/gripgo/invt/g0egg10100000001

It's a great device and even in a Spigen Tough Armor, I just get in and push my phone against the holder.

However, it will be interesting to see how it fares with a 6+ attached to it.

Time will tell I guess...

----------

My car has Bluetooth, so my phone stays in my purse. That way there's no temptation to look at the screen while driving. Six Plus will be just fine in my car.

Mine does too, but I use Apple & Google maps a lot, so pockets or glove boxes are a no go for me.

Plus, I have a nice short Lightning lead that comes out of my head unit (Kenwood), which charges/streams, so again, pockets and glove boxes are no go.

The GripGo is great, it uses 'nano suckers' to hold the phone (when you first look at it, you can't see them and can't see how on earth your phone will stay attached, but it does!).

On the contrary, now I may actually be willing to use my phone as a GPS in the car. I didn't like how small the screen was on my iPhone 5 when I wanted to see what the road ahead would look like. Now I'll have a screen that tempts me away from my long-in-the-tooth Garmin. I don't know why the size of the plus would be a concern when some people mount iPads to their cars.

The car I had before the one I have now had no navigation and I felt the same way you do, My 5s was to small for navigation and I had to use a dash mount Garmin. The 6+ will be great for nav.

Tetrax x way.

That looks great! I have a similar setup in a similar vehicle. I bought a $5 off ebay and it's been working great for over a year. I thought about running the power cable under the dash too but haven't really needed it yet. Yours looks clean.

I think the 6+ for GPS use will obviously be really nice. The size of the 5 in portrait mode has been enough for me though but I can see a bigger screen being of use for a lot of people.

That's pretty nice if it holds it well. Could make looking at the maps while using GPS a lot easier than on the 5S.

I've been using the original AirFrame for over a year now with both my iPhone 5 and 5S. Has held up perfectly. Probably the best accessory I have purchased for my iPhone.

looks kind of cool but worries me what happens if you brake hard or bump the car is it gonna fly off.

Not at all. Its very sturdy. It has rubber grips that go into the air vent that prevent movement. I've learned that you need to keep it on the bottom corner of the vent to prevent the weight from pulling down the vent, but other than that it is excellent. Doesn't block that much airflow either.

Gotcha. I was slightly confused because I wasn't thinking you were referring to that top portion and I had never seen a center console not large enough to even fit an iPad mini or larger lol.

I was thinking maybe your definition of the console was different than mine, but I guess you were just talking about a very specific compartment within it.

I use an imagnet mount with a slim metal disc that slips in my tough armor case. It's very minimalistic.

Love this mount!

I've been using the Kenu Airframe for over a year now and its awesome. Was hoping the regular model would fit the 6+ but I may have to get the bigger one now.

Fwiw, Kenu's customer service is great. One plastic piece had come off of my Airframe and so I emailed their customer service. They replaced it free of charge even though it was over a year old.

Jesus Christ that thing is obnoxious looking! The air vent one that someone posted looks much more practical.

Works great. To each his own. Does the same thing once installed and doesn't block air vent. Don't know know about you, but I use my air vents much more than my CD slot. Not sure what you mean by obnoxious? Avg 4.5 stars over 3,000 reviews. Clearly you're own your own there.

Plus it has a bottom shelf that is superconvenient to use versus just a grip clamp. Think about that for a second. Every time you want to release the phone you have to be holding it carefully so it doesn't fall. With the version I have you can release the clamp and the phone still sits on the shelf you can easily take it off, that's one-handed operation. The kind that goes in the air vent you almost have to be using two hands, one to hold the phone and one to release the clamp. Also has nice tilt so you can angle it towards yourself. Between wife and I we have tried many many varieties. Best so far.

Another vote for the Kenu Airframe Plus. Been using it with my LG G3 and it'll fit the iPhone 6 Plus perfectly.
