I see this thread about moderation has gone the same way as all the other ones in recent memory: a collection of gripes instead of providing evidence for a systematic, widespread problem. <yawn>. I guess we should all keep this one in mind when the next 25+ reply thread of complaints pops up 3 months from now.

Even through it's a messy process, we solicit this feedback because it helps us, which ultimately helps everyone. The users who tend to speak up may not be representative of the overall membership but we can assume that most opinions we here are shared by other members too. Our other feedback comes from PMs and Contact messages and email, which is useful too but doesn't let one user hear the opinions of other users.

You can never really get a consensus in threads like this, but since there's a general feeling that moderation is too nit-picky we'll chew on that and see how it meshes with plans for improvement we already have underway.
 
Personally I think a moderator that only did it for like a couple of months shouldd not have that "Moderator Emeritus" title.
