I would like to make good on my newfound credibility...

The 2011 iPad will also have a faster processor. And a "pez dispenser."

(The quotes mean it could be similar to a pez dispenser but not necessarily a pez dispenser)

Wow, the world at your finger tips and it feeds you to boot. What's next... folds clothes?

Is anyone here familiar with Apple production process? Do they have several contractors / manufactures / plants for one product? Example are there two different ones of these who make MacBook Pro's for Apple for example?

My guess would be IF and to me its a big IF the iPhone goes CDMA that they will have a supplier for that portion of the iPhone and assembly it in the same place as their GSM iPhones.

I for one have my fingers crossed for a US Tmobile deal so I don't have to be ashamed to take my unlocked iPhone out in the Apple store ! :)

What's your thoughts????

The 2012 iPad will come with iPhone OS 5.5 which, among other "magical things", will finally have an API for the aforementioned "pez dispenser."

lol 2 things i have to ask

1. Didnt they say, if they were to make a CDMA iPhone, wouldnt it be used in China first [from what i heard]

2. If the user is on safari or playing a game through wifi with other friends [Game Center IN OS 4.0] Would that mean the call will always go to voicemail?

I'm not exactly gettin all my hopes up... but I do hope this is true!

not because I want a verizon iphone, but to see all those macrumors people who said it will never happen, see it happen. then i will :p

"What's also telling of their accuracy is that the March 30th article also described the new iPhone as "thinner" with a faster processor. This report was well before the leaked images of the next generation iPhone which did reveal the thinner form factor."

That is the main part that sold me! I had no idea those were the next steps for apple

Sometimes they have several OEMs, sometimes they don't. Sometimes they have multiple sources for parts, sometimes they don't.

Nothing can be assumed or concluded from past Apple manufacturing history (at least in recent years).

How often, when you are on a call, take the phone from your head, while the other person is on the line and go on the internet? I did it maybe twice, and that's because I wasn't interested in what the other persons were saying.

the truth of the matter is that, people lived without it on the iPhone 2G, and people will of course live without it on Verizon. I mean look; Verizon has more subscribers than ATT (give or take, I might be wrong). these people don't ever complain about their not having data and voice together.

Don't mock. This was credited by the Wall Street Journal, and they do not just randomly publish uncredible sources, otherwise they wouldn't have a name.

Actually, I think many people use voice and data at the same time....you've never been on Pandora and get a call? Never in an IM app and get a call...on a call and need Fandango for a movie time, or Google Maps for quick directions or something, daily I am on the phone with work and downloading some PDFS to view, can't do that on Verizon as a business user....I think your usage is different than mine obviously, but I bet there a 50/50 split of people who consume lots of data while on the phone

Personally i use google maps or look up a website quite often when on the line with someone, but 95% of the time when i do it im also using bluetooth headset.

It would probably be easier for Apple (an American company) to debut a CDMA iPhone on an American CDMA mobile carrier in terms of network partnership, design/testing, managing customer service, etc.

I don't know where you're getting your rumors ("from what i heard"). Be wary of what you read on the Internet, too.

There is absolutely no technical barrier. The question is if Apple has decided to move beyond the single carrier model here in the US. No one can answer that but Apple.

There's a technical barrier in as much as GSM and CDMA require completely different radio hardware in the phone. It's not an insurmountable one; they could create two separate models, but it's not as easy as selling a single GSM model to multiple carriers. But there is an engineering and certification cost to making two models.

Please let Verizon get the phone already. The more of you who leave ATT, the better my service will be.

It would be ironic if having the CDMA 'iPhone 4G' reduces Verizon's incentive to develop a 4G network!
It wouldn't be ironic. It would be illogical.

Most likely, the appearance of the iPhone on Verizon's CDMA network would put a strain on their 3G service. If anything, the introduction of the iPhone on Verizon would put more pressure on Verizon to deploy their next generation network.

Remember, iPhone users use massive amounts of data, far more than other smartphone users.

Scr*w verizon, I hope they never get the iPhone, they always struck me as the greediest of all the lousy carriers, always hobbling phones capabilities so they could charge extra, bunch of t*ssp*ts.
When are we all going to stop having to pay for incoming calls?

I wish Verizon would allow me to browse the internet while on a call. No emails while on a call sucks, and reminds me of my days on the first gen iPhone and EDGE. In addition, Verizon's internet speeds are much slower on 3g than AT&T, and if you don't live in New York or San Francisco, you probably don't have much of a problem with dropped calls. I don't. If Verizon would patch up these issues then I would switch, but I'll probably wait until they come out with 4g.

What would be really killer is if Verizon offered to pay off the cancellation fees on people switching from AT&T. That will keep most people from jumping initially. It will also be funny when Verizon's network feels the strain of the iPhone, lol. Nobody can prepare for that. I'm calling it!

Does anyone know much about Sprint? I've seen their plans are a lot cheaper and they have 4g in some cities already, but several years ago a lot of my friends ditched them because of spotty coverage and poor service in general. Are they at least better than AT&T now? It seems like they have more 3g coverage. My wife's uncle in Maryville, MO (population like 10,000) has 3g on his laptop's datacard with Sprint.

What happened to the hybrid GSM/CDMA chip? Wouldn't it make more sense to create one model?

Yeah, it's like saying "The new MacBooks will have more RAM and storage"...

I'm buying the iPhone to VZ rumor now. I'm thinking this may be the primary reason AT&T moved up the Upgrade Eligibility for many users. Lock them in for 2 more years before the VZ iPhone comes out in Sept/Oct...

If you look at all my posts in the past about Verizon I have been saying this since last year that Verizon was in fact getting the iPhone and it will be an amazing day.
Also AT&T's stock will drop dramatically when this happens as over 20million consumers will be leaving launch weekend, I am sure this is of no surprise.
This however might just be a surprise. Did you know AT&T offered 4 billion privately (as in side money not part of the proposal amount) to a couple Exec's that can sway where the iPhone can go and also keeping the iPhone until 2014.

last time i checked but copying rumors and stating the obvious doesnt mean they know all. i stated everything likely the ipad would have before announcement and was completely right. did i have inside source? no. did i use my head? yes.
