And let it have bigger storage.

64 Gb for the entry level, and at least 128 Gb for those who want to step up.

Not to forget an USB port. But we may see this only on iPad4. The iPad3 has, with its new display, enough upgrade juice.

Thinking of it - we DO need that USB port. Let's have it in the iPad3 already.
for what exactly do we need an USB port?

I don't get why it's confirmed; you bought a high resolution screen from someone in china the same size, but it doesn't confirm is gonna be used for the iPad 3. With many new tablets coming out this might not be apples'... Maybe

Exactly. Why does the headline say "Confirmed"? Has Apple announced it yet?

No, it means that ALL displays will look like a POS after you use the retina display iPad 3 :p

Super AMOLED displays will always "look" better no matter what the resolution.

Really wish Apple would dump these crappy LCD screens, or at least bump up the refresh rates so everything isnt a blurry mess.

Not Retina Display @ 264 pixels per inch

Apple is not calling it "Retina Display" because it is under 300 pixels per inch.
Well, unless they changed the definition of "Retina Display" just like the wireless industry calling something faster than 3G as 4G.

"Retina Display" is a marketing term but it has a definition.

At 264 pixels per inch, please stop calling it "Retina Display".

Now we just need a retina display 27" iMac.
And why are people getting 2 iPads? What's the point of that?

I'd much rather the term be forgotten about altogether. It is terms like "retina display", 1080p, 720p and the like that have ruined the display industry.

If your screen isn't 1080p "FullHD", you're product gets lumped into an odd category. 1080p sucks. I don't want a 1080p 27" monitor. Why do computer monitors get classified as such? I realize the manufacturers got lazy, and merged small TVs and monitors together, but why must we suffer because of it?

Significant other? to sell? dedicated for work use (think web designer, app developer)? They are stimulating their economy? A lot of good reasons to.

You're saying HDMI output, a feature I bet hardly anyone would ever use in practice (Airplay mirroring/wireless screen scaring is a hell of a lot more viable on a tablet, which is obviously handheld and not supposed to have trailing cables) is more important than 4x the pixels on screen, potentially impacting almost everything running on the system? .. Ummmm.

Who cares what it's called, nobody's making a fuss about the name!

I know it's a typo, but I really like the concept of "screen scaring"-as in scaring the competition(until they get it too).

I've been sitting on a $140 rebate visa card I got when I purchased new tires last month and it looks like it will be going towards one of these. :D

What?!? My tire rebate was only $30! And there is no way I can wait until next month to spend it.

But I'll be refreshing the Apple store during the event and buying an ipad 3 the instant it's available. :D

No, I'd be zooming in on the photograph for accuracy (sharpness, focus, etc). I say that as a photographer. Higher res doesnt mean my screen is magically going to show me what i need to see.

Having an iPhone doesn't make you a photographer

Right… back to the pre-VGA days for you then.
In other words, it’s progress. Accept it or get left behind.
