Huh. I still wonder, when I read posts like these, where exactly does Steve Jobs/Tim Cook dictate me and tell me that the way they suggested is the only one good way for everyone. Can you point me to such statements please? Thanks.
They don't. (not obviously anyway, but they do in the simplest ways, I'll explain later). But some people tend to think that way. Hence the reply because said person couldnt comprehend the fact that I, like many others, do things that they themselves wouldnt think of.
There was never a real need for a tablet that would be a cross between a phone and laptop, but since steve jobs introduced it, people have gone apewild. Personally, I think tablets are a useless toy (all of them, ipad, galaxy, kindle fire, playbook, ALL of them) and no *real* work can be done on them. But, as we all know, that one guy, the guy that resembles big brother (ironically) proved otherwise and its been (somehow) the hottest market since the smartphone.
In any case, comments that negate someones workflow or dislike towards someones objections should be tossed out. Valid criticism should stand, ie; I can't stand Lion or Mountain Lion because its lacking proper Expose (I need to see all my open windows all at the same time. I will NOT use Lion or later because it groups all windows within an application. I multitask a lot and need a direct view of everything, something that mission control has failed miserably to do. a simple solution would be to add an option in system preferences to ungroup windows, but apple doesnt care to even add such a simple solution).
Reality is; apple DOES in fact dictate how you use your computer, whats available, what your options are, etc;
-your limited choices of video cards
-the fact that there is no reasonably priced desktop that isnt an all in one (mac mini does not count, im speaking *real desktop*)
-the need for safari to use itunes, the need for a new computer just to use a new ipod (when in reality, you shouldnt)
-no divx, xvid, x264 or mkv support on any iOS device
-the locked down nature of iOS making it impossible to retrieve music or movies BACK from an iOS device
-the fact that all iOS devices *require iTunes*
-no choice in customizing mission control the proper way (expose)
-removing launchpad from the dock does not disable, its still running in the background (an ultimately useless application)
-no removable batteries on any iOS device, EVER made
I could go on and on and on.... but theres no way to deny the fact that apple DOES limit you for their own benefit... their own profit (because they really dont give a crap about you as a consumer, prosumer, or user of a device, your just a dollar sign).
