Edit: NVM...I'll try to pick one up in store when I return from my travels. Ugh!
Edit 2: I went back this morning and pre-ordered a Verizon 64GB Space Gray for in-store pickup on 9/19. I assume this means there is one with my name on it and it will sit there until I get back in town to pick it up on Sunday 9/21. This works for me.
Still wondering if I should have done the Edge program...or if I even could.
Edit 3: I now also have a Verizon 16GB Silver pre-ordered for in-store pickup on 9/19 for my gf. Let's see if she's patient enough to wait until I return from Vegas.

I got it from Verizon. 64gb Gold Plus for 9/19 delivery at about 1:58am Central. The black stock option and Silver were sold out by the time I got there, I think.

just placed my order via apple.com on my iPad (via safari).
6+ 16GB Space Gray T-Mobile. Email confirmation just came too. There was no delay, like it was just a normal day on the store.
Meanwhile, the apple.com store is still down on my PC on both firefox and chrome. It's also down on my Mac via Safari.

Ordered Space Grey 64 GB ATT iPhone 6 at 11:50 PM PST, went through fine and says 9/19 delivery.
Then ordered two phones for work on Apple site at 12:06 PM PST, 16GB Space Grey iPhone 6 and 16GB Space Grey iPhone 6 Plus, both full price. Also confirmed for 9/19 delivery. Very impressed this time, my iPhone 5 experience was terrible.
