To celebrate the occasion I will nit everyone a leather loop ... you can ask me for one, but I'm not sure I can deliver on time.

Be patient ... my fingers bleed and I'm out of cow.

"Congratulations to Apple for a Successful Launch!"

you mean, "Congratulations to Apple for a Successful Launch Of Fifty Thousand Watches and Millions of Upset Customers"

This isn't about a ****ing court of law. Obviously Apple hasn't done anything illegal here. It's just aggravating that they advertised "Available on 4/24" without enough stock to actually guarantee anyone a delivery before 5/8.

A few Debbie Downers crawled out but I definitely agree this was a great launch.

The thing I loved about it was it gave EVERYONE an equal chance of getting a watch as early as possible. I have always been jealous of those who can just waltz into an Apple Store on release days or soon after and get everything first (if they will wait in the line). It always pissed me off to get into the queue quickly and wait weeks to get my phone while those in the big cities and had a few hours to kill could get it.

Point nullified (if that is a word)...DQ

If they say "pre-orders start on April 10", and "Available on April 24", it is clearly implied that deliveries should start on April 24. Otherwise, what is the significance of the April 24 date at all?

Deliveries ARE starting on April 24. Ask the Aussies today (where it is now April 24). They are already posting vids of what? The Watches that were delivered on April 24....

Exactly, minimal effort to get ahead in line here! If people think waking up before 3AM EST (whatever time that is in your zone) is hard, LOL. I did it. Easy peazy. Starting to stand in line a day before at a store and everyone ahead get it instead of you, I can definitely feel that pain. Again, congrats to Apple to change this. What they definitely can't change is all the 'Debbie Downers' in the world who believe everyone owes them something right there and then or they complain. It's absolutely ridiculous and these people need to seriously look at other issues in their lives (their personality, family issues, professional issues, etc.). That is the real root cause, not that Apple is making their life miserable! LOL ALL DAY!

ONE reason I am getting mine quickly is that I had a list of 4 choices in my order of preference and would have been happy with any of them. I got lucky that my first choice was the only one available in that first date range as I logged in at 3 minutes after. I then fumbled with Apple Pay for 2 minutes because it suddenly wanted billing and shipping addresses added for the first time. SO my final order went in at 7 minutes after and I was thrilled to see the dates had not changed.

Aloha, "Tap-Buddy"!

I agree!

Congratulations to a launch with fewer channels to sell from which means lower numbers and smaller hype.

Congratulations on limiting the customer's option to only an
online rollout which is one frustratingly long virtual line you must to wait in.

Congratulations on leaving out the best retail experience in the world (Apple Store) and not giving customers options at the POS like getting the watch you want when you want it or change your mind if they don't have it.

Congrats on not having an in store solution in time for the roll out!

Congrats to the head of retail.

Does the shawngt2 work for Apple? I have always wondered if Apple has PR people posting to the forums.

Really I am not being sarcastic just wondering.

I work for a world renowned tunnel boring machine (TBM) manufacturer...Do you think Apple needs employees on forums to help change people's opinions on their launches and/or products? Maybe you should consider not buying Apple products if you think their marketing level has stooped to that level...

I am really sorry it was not my goal to offend you or make light of your recognition of Apple's achievement.

In my opinion, and probably many others, this was anything but a successful launch. There is absolutely no reason for people who ordered with a "June" release date are getting their Watches tomorrow while many of us who pre-ordered in early hours of the morning are left waiting with a "processing" status.

Oh look a bunch of people with 4/24 ship dates telling everyone else how immature they are for complaining, how crazy.

The general communication has been conflicting and confusing and that is leading to some deserved bad press.

Fundamentally, I don't believe Apple truly knew and understood what demand would be for this device, and I think everything has been calculated around that. They hedged their bets and used customer order demand to dictate production needs. Basically, all of us pre-order folks were guinea pigs for Apple to learn what the market really was for this product that by Apple's admission is not a perfected product or product line yet.

Is it a success? I have no idea. I don't know if anyone does. Success would be based on sales versus expectations. I doubt these numbers are going to blow anyone away...but I don't think Apple intended it to. They are entering a new category rife with error and missteps by all manufacturers and using early adopters to help them figure it out...slowly

Sure I was surprised that the first round of ship dates were gone within 5 minutes on my version...but am I angry, no. With the unusual timeline of announcing the product 1 month before it went on sale, I immediately lowered my expectations.

I think everyone here has a right to be angry...and I think Apple also has a right to be happy with demand exceeding supply. I guess I cut both ways.

This thread is a joke, right?

I've finally found the end of the internet. And I'm known as the biggest Apple fan around and you people make me cringe with blind fandom.

I have a :03 confirm and no movement how they hell is that EQUAL chance?

Apple has done a stellar job with this launch. The complainers here are just close-minded, thinking only within themselves, and haven't cared to study or appreciate the larger issues. Consider:

- This is an entirely new product line for Apple, with more complexity and combinations than ever before offered.

- They completely redesigned and reconfigured everyone of their retail stores for this, including training employees, and designing everything from fixturing, stands, electrical systems, to coded locks, to furniture with built-in storage slots and charging drawers. Some truly magnificent design and engineering here.

- They found a way to show this product to the public in a very space-efficient manner, and had samples for personal try-on available at every store.

- They meet every deadline and promise that they made to the public.

- The did a splendid job with the rollout, starting with the October Apple event, the followon provision of review samples, and finally the mass rollout to their store and employees.

- many, many folks were PLEASANTLY surprised to get watches on launch day. All you had to do was hang back, do a bit of research, and you could quickly find the models (sport w/blue; 38mm SS/classic) that could be ordered up to THIS MORNING for receipt TOMORROW.

-If you're complaining that you can't get a watch, it's because of your individual choice, not the availability. They were there for the ordering.

Congrats Apple, you pulled off a magnificent launch with unprecedented complexity, and fair-minded consumers can recognize what you did. The haters, well, we all know....
