This isn't about a ****ing court of law. Obviously Apple hasn't done anything illegal here. It's just aggravating that they advertised "Available on 4/24" without enough stock to actually guarantee anyone a delivery before 5/8.
If they say "pre-orders start on April 10", and "Available on April 24", it is clearly implied that deliveries should start on April 24. Otherwise, what is the significance of the April 24 date at all?
A few Debbie Downers crawled out but I definitely agree this was a great launch.
The thing I loved about it was it gave EVERYONE an equal chance of getting a watch as early as possible. I have always been jealous of those who can just waltz into an Apple Store on release days or soon after and get everything first (if they will wait in the line). It always pissed me off to get into the queue quickly and wait weeks to get my phone while those in the big cities and had a few hours to kill could get it.
ONE reason I am getting mine quickly is that I had a list of 4 choices in my order of preference and would have been happy with any of them. I got lucky that my first choice was the only one available in that first date range as I logged in at 3 minutes after. I then fumbled with Apple Pay for 2 minutes because it suddenly wanted billing and shipping addresses added for the first time. SO my final order went in at 7 minutes after and I was thrilled to see the dates had not changed.
Aloha, "Tap-Buddy"!
Does the OP work for Apple? I have always wondered if Apple has PR people posting to the forums.
I work for a world renowned tunnel boring machine (TBM) manufacturer...Do you think Apple needs employees on forums to help change peoples opinions on their launches and/or products? Maybe you should consider not buying Apple products if you think their marketing level has stooped to that level...
HI. When are you getting yours? You know you are going to have to book a timeshare tour to get my phone number don't you?![]()

Apple has done a stellar job with this launch. The complainers here are just close-minded, thinking only within themselves, and haven't cared to study or appreciate the larger issues. Consider:
- This is an entirely new product line for Apple, with more complexity and combinations than ever before offered.
- They completely redesigned and reconfigured everyone of their retail stores for this, including training employees, and designing everything from filtering, to electrical systems, to coded locks, to furniture.
- They found a way to show this product to the public in a very space-efficient manner, and had samples for personal try-on available at every store.
- They meet every deadline and promise that they made to the public.
- The did a splendid job with the rollout, starting with the October Apple event, the followon provision of review samples, and finally the mass rollout to their store and employees.
- many, many folks were PLEASANTLY surprised to get watches on launch day. All you had to do was hang back, do a bit of research, and you could quickly find the models (sport w/blue; 38mm SS/classic) that could be ordered up to THIS MORNING for receipt TOMORROW.
-If you're complaining that you can't get a watch, it's because of your individual choice, not the availability. They were there for the ordering.
Congrats Apple, you pulled off a magnificent launch with unprecedented complexity, and fair-minded consumers can recognize what you did. The haters, well, we all know....
I. Can't. Even.
