Bendgate is FAR from closed, oh my God that was too easy to bend. I had hope when I saw this article but dang, nope, after this video I lost that hope. Sigh..

No one is watching this video, no one is discussing it, you guys are all just as bad as android fans. Blind consumerism.

Sigh indeed.... you could've left that last part off. No need to judge people. Keep your judgement on the device.

I happen to agree with you about this bending problem. I was sceptical until I saw that video.

I didn't need to read this to know that the it isn't that bendable. People that are jealous of Apple's success always come up with stupid stuff to bash them.

Guarantee all the apple fans now love consumer reports after swearing to never read them again after they claimed the iPhone 4 had a faulty antenna.

Guarantee all the android fans now hate consumer reports after swearing that they are always right after they claimed the iPhone 4 had a faulty antenna

if i was apple i'll sue those who create the bendgate and study the phone etc..

Apple doesn't care what people do with fully-purchased devices. In fact, they benefit. They made pure profit from the sale of the phone which will never cost them another dime with cloud services and support calls.

Some dumbhead would.

So???? The Samsung perform worse than my 10yr old Nokia 3310. What's your point here?

The point is that it is not as durable as samsung's.

Nobody cares about your 3310 or another irrelevant object.
Nobody's comparing apple to a piece of carbon fiber.

A new apple phone vs a new Samsung phone is a fair comparison.

Not to say anything but..... this didn't take a whole lot of effort!

Some of the bystanders swoar a little by the way.

Perhaps it's like some magic tricks? Bend it in that right spot in the right way and off it goes? Oh and I think he didn't put any effort into that Moto X so has falsified that result IMO.

The weak spot on the iPhone 6+ is obviously the area where the down volume button cutout is. A force directly at that point will highlight the true strength of the phone. Therefore if someone was to sit on their phone and stress it at this location it won't need a lot of force to bend.

I still reckon this is a design compromise they could have avoided but instead chose to maintain its thinness of the phone against a potential backlash over the rigidity. Jony Ive got his way it seems.

How do you stress just that point if it takes a really heavy large ass to bend it?

Nobody accidentally tries to bend their phone like that. And any other phone would break too if you bend it like that.
Watch the full video! the motox in fine.

If he bends the phone like that in 3 seconds with not much force...well that's just bad design.

This is what I really hate about the internet. Any idiot can make any claim he wants to. But what's worse is that there are many more idiots who just can't wait to jump on anything negative to express their own negative "opinions". The internet can be as terrible and destructive as it can be great and constructive.

I think the Internet made everyone stupid, because people believe this random sh&&& as true facts.

If you're standing around like a moron trying to bend your phone to prove a point I guarantee every phone can be bent.

It should be moment, not force

The reason why it takes more force to bend iPhone 6+ is because that bending is actually a moment issue, not a force one.

iPhone 6+ is larger, if you apply the same force on the edge, you get larger moments

It's not irrelevant, it is more durable. All these comparisons are relative to other phones as opposed to scientifically measuring how much force they take and then answering if that is problematic, like Consumer Reports did.

How is the issue closed? The iPhone 6 is half as strong as the iPhone 5 and Note 3, which means it's twice as much likely to be bended.
The iPhone 6 is plenty strong enough for the vast majority of users.

The iPhone 5 and Note 3 were scandalously overbuilt for their purpose. This waste of precious resources needs to be investigated.

Well, I sat on my phone today against an edge of a chair. Following bendgate thought I lost a lot of money.mtook my phone out, brand spankin new. Not even a tiny bend. Guess I don't have to worry about it much.

Anyone who sits on their phone in their back pocket have to be pretty dam stupid, I never in my life have or will do that so that isnt even near a concern for me

What the difference between compare samsung's to another phone vs. apple to samsung's? Are they all phones? Is durability on top of your priority?

Then why don't you buy a Samsung phone and be happy with it? Why bother going here to prove what?

Most iPhone owners don't give a sh^$% about Samsung or other phones.

You just proved that people won't always treat their phones well, which seems to be the #1 solution to bendgate. Im very happy that your phone is well, however.
