Wirelessly posted (iPhone 4 (32GB): Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_0 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/532.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0.5 Mobile/8A293 Safari/6531.22.7)
I had one of those, too - a Sharp 814SH, IIRC. Beautiful screen, convoluted UI, $2/minute for extremely blocky, low-res video calls, and the worst browser known to man. Fantastic screen, though.![]()
It was the SH905i/906i. DoCoMo's UI was far better than SoftBank's was a few years ago. Far better than the UI on the 8xx/9xx Sharps anyways.
At least the 'PC' browser (NetFront) had Flash
And you know what? I'd rather pay $2 a minute to have the option to do low-res video calls over 3G to any other 3G video call capable phone rather than only being able to use video calling over WiFi, and only to other iPhone4s. Lot of use that is. At least it's free
Posts like this make me wanna puke.
No one here said that it was new technology. They're simply praising the nice screen. Just because one (or likely a few) phones back 3 years ago had similar dpi, doesn't mean that every smart phone on the market currently has this high of screen resolution.
Point being, we're happy it's on the iPhone. Who cares if it was available 3 years ago? We're enjoying it now, whereas most smart phones currently pale in comparison.
Your argument is moot and irrelevant to this thread. Nothing you said makes "beyond amazing" and "raised the bar" untrue.
I agree with everyone else... that screen is beautiful.
Puke all you want. Don't like what I think, don't read and don't reply. Simple as that.
