They said that the new torx style iphone 4's have a different proximity sensor that does not work with the white parts? does anyone have the iphone with torx screws and have converted it white?

Yes I do and iphone4whitekit told me that they would have to change the proximity sensors in the phone back to an older version and then do the conversion.

My phone has the torx screws and works perfectly. Ill give anyone the email of who did mine if you want. I have had no problems and the quality of the parts is top notch.

Well my order arrived today as I hoped for, but unfortunately the parts were subpar in certain areas. The white headphone jack was missing, the white dock connector area looked more silver than white, the white front lcd glass didn't fit well against the metal antennaband of the iphone4, and most importantly the lcd screen had easily visible bright white hotspots in each corner once the screen was on.

Now I've reversed the conversion, gone back to my black iphone, and am anxious to receive a refund for this kit after wasting away my afternoon on this project.

If anyone finds a dealer that sells near-OEM quality conversion kits and has some sort of quality control testing before shipping out their kits, please let me know.

My choice was....ifixdirect

So guys after speaking to ifixdirect and hearing all the negative and the positive i decided to pull the trigger. Apparently they are under new management so there is a new office location and ill be visiting it today around 4 oclock. They also told me they have an "exclusive sneak preview" for me of the red and blue iphone 4. Will keep you updated in their thread.

Yes i have read through the majority of the thread but the people who recently dealt with ifixdirect, it seems that everything is okay now. Either way, i just got home and my phone is white. I also got a chance to takes some pictures of the blue and red. The parts are of superb quality and feel good however there is no coating for the fingerprints. It feels the same but gets dirty faster which doesnt bother me too much. Ill have an update in their thread shortly.

Which thread have you posted it to?

I think everyone's best bet is to stay with their black ones.

I've seen the red and blue parts. Not only are they not even remotely legit, but they're extremely ugly.

Them: The two people who did reviews o us - one of them kept the parts and just used it to sell the same parts for $250. He bought 20 pieces from us and after we saw that review we stopped letting him order. THe other guy gumballtech tried to take his phoe apart, messed up badly, broke a few things, then told us to fix it for free , then we sent it back and then he dropped it and it broke and he said the back glass in black would not have broken if dropped.

What's funny is that I, GumballTech, broke nothing. Scott doesn't take kindly to bad reviews, and tries to cover up themselves. Hands down, iPhone4WhiteKit's parts have nearly no durability. For the back to crack when dropped onto carpet from 3 feet is just wrong. For the digitizer to stop working a few days later after no extra drops is also just wrong.

I know, it's been a while, but I wanted to put that out there.
