A litttle harsh, aren't we? Oh, nevermind. No I shall not convince you, if you don't like the iPhone, get the Android and shut up about it and your comparisons... no one cares.

You're assuming Apple will be standing still with iOS 4 in those time frame. As good as Android is improving, we will see iOS improving too, and then there's WinPho7.
2.2 is very promising though, especially with its free tethering feature. I wouldn't buy an Android phone today that is not guaranteed to get 2.2.
iPhone, of course. Unless you absolutely need free nav., flash, and some other stuff. I think you'll be more satisfied with iPhone in the long run.Again, I do like the iPhone, I'm just trying to learn more about which the better product is.
Or do you think I should just make the purchase without doing any research whatsoever?
Best laugh I've had all day!![]()
Not really, we don't need to convince him of anything. If they need convincing they obviously haven't got their hearts set on the iPhone to start with.A litttle harsh, aren't we? Oh, nevermind.
I hope so... but I kind of want Android to stick around as well.I definitely agree with you that Apple will be improving at the same time and will ultimately still be ahead.
And I do think with so many different Android phones, Google is going to run into the same Problem Microsoft did with Windows Mobile in supporting updates for all of them.

idk, but I totally agree with your statement. Not really, we don't need to convince him of anything. If they need convincing they obviously haven't got their hearts set on the iPhone to start with.
And what was with the "Oh, never mind"?

You're probably right, but I think Apple will still be in the lead. Maybe not feature-for-feature wise (such as Android having multi-tasking first) but Apple will implement it better, whatever, etc. Stuff like that.True, but just as Apple fixed/added things from iOS 1.0 to iOS 2.0, we'll see the same with Android.
I feel like Apple fans, including myself, immediately dismiss what Android is doing just because it's the competition.

There you go, mate. The above statement says it all.You do research by reading professional reviews and trying out each device, not posting on an internet forum. A forum for Apple fans, at that. If you post here, you can guess which phone is preferred by most people here. Same if you post in an Android forum. Now, if you post in a Palm forum, that could be enlightening.
Google's problem is different than MS' Winmo. With Winmo, MS is restricting themselves in releasing newer versions of the OS as they have to wait for the manufactures. With Android being free, Google couldn't care less. They already said they're going to keep pushing updates, and if the manufactures couldn't keep up, well, tough. Besides, Google has their own reference phone, the Nexus One. MS didn't have their own reference Winmo phone. And I do think with so many different Android phones, Google is going to run into the same Problem Microsoft did with Windows Mobile in supporting updates for all of them.
I probably love my iPhone just as much as you, but you can't say Android isn't doing some cool stuff.

I'll start off by saying that the iPhone 4 is the sexiest device I have ever seen. The incredible display, amazing build quality, and the new features of iOS4 make it a very appealing phone. But nobody can deny the unique features of Android that make it at least a viable option.
I'd love to upgrade to the iPhone4 because of the new hardware, software, and features, but Android has many awesome features (Google Voice, Navigation, Goggles, etc.) that make it extremely appealing.
What is keeping you from switching you to Android? I know this is an Apple forum, but please try to avoid giving blind, fanboy opinions.![]()
Seriously doubt that would ever happen. Google wouldn't like that one bit...I do too, I think they need some sort 'Google Approved' line where they choose a very few number of handsets and do what Apple does with the iPhone as far as testing and software updates.

Now, the problem with Android is on the consumer side. Consumers are just starting to embrace Android, but if they're getting jibbed again and again with newer and better phones coming out in less than 6 months, and their less that a year phone are not upgradeable to even a .1 update, the uptake of Android might be dampened.
Google already have "their" phone. It's the Nexus One.I do too, I think they need some sort 'Google Approved' line where they choose a very few number of handsets and do what Apple does with the iPhone as far as testing and software updates.
