The icon now moved to the left but when I only accept 'strictly necessary cookies' and 'functional' the settings window comes back every time I reload the site / visit a new thread.

I'm getting it a few times a day on Safari on Mac and iPhone.

What are you selecting in the consent panel? I can't get it to re-pop up for me. I've tried consent all and revoke all, and it still only shows the one time so far.

I just accept it every time. I’ll try to make a note of what steps I took next time it happens.

Thanks, that helps. And you haven't cleared cookies, or are using a private browsing window when it pops up again?

I just got it again on my iPhone. I was on the forum homepage and navigated to the website home page via the logo button. It appeared as soon as the website homepage loaded.

It works for me now. I just selected my choice of cookies maybe 6 or 7 times and now it seems to stick. It happened on my iPhone and on my Mac with Firefox.
No reset of cookies or private browsing.
Just for testing I selected and de-selected other cookies and it works for me now. The window only shows when I hit the fingerprint icon. It also remembers the selection I made.
No idea what caused it before.

Selecting strictly necessary and functional should be sufficient to suppress the modal but on refresh it comes back. I’m about to be done with MacRumors if you keep this plugin. Please go back to the old one with the “reject all” button.

what browser are you on and any extensions?

We can’t reproduce so a video of you being able to reproduce it may help track it down.

Safari (latest non-beta) no extensions. Managed to suppress it but had to go into settings and clear MacRumors cookies for a second time for some reason. It’s still a really bad plugin that’s frustrating to use on an iPhone as you can’t scroll while the stupid hover transitions are firing. Really wish you’d revert to the previous one.

Yeah. The consent form was updated by our ad network to comply with some new standards. We don’t choose it independently but of course it seems there were some issues that arose. Let me know if anyone can reproduce the issues. They say they fixed it and it may require a cookie clearing.

One big issue with the adverts is that some don't allow opt out, which I believe is illegal in the EU. So you might ask these guys politely to conform to EU law.

Which are you talking about?

OK, I've been seeing this problem too – for the past few days. Was initially seeing the fingerprint icon.

It's so bad, I'm seeing it for each & every subsequent page in a thread.

Problem occurs on my iPhone, iPad and iMac. All using Safari (latest release versions of each on iOS 13 and Mojave).

I've tried accepting all (not the option I initially chose, but it's become so annoying I wanted to try to find a solution) but it didn't help.

Can you try clearing your MacRumors cookies? See if that fixes it?

I have Cleared my cookies and it is still happening !

You using any content blockers or extensions across your devices? If so could you try without?

The ad network has said that this should be fully fixed now.

Please let me know if this is still happening.

I use no content blockers or extensions.

So far so good.

I used to get the cookie pop up once a week, but it has occurred several times today.

Using Safari 14.0, and ad-blocking extensions (uBlock, Magic Lasso, AdBlock, and AdBlockPlus) (yes, where I live, the web has become unusable without this).
