I've had an iPhone since they were released in 2007 and that has NEVER happened to me. Ever. I guess some people are just careless. Same people that drop their iPhone and expect Apple to replace are the same people that need a passcode I guess.

So you're saying something that has never happened to you... can't happen?

A couple of interesting items I have found

Ability to turn of cellular data only and keep 3g on.

Now supports subscribing to birthday calendar from mobile me.

Every default app got its icon revised.

Can any of you developers see if there's any trace of these functions:

- Persistent calendar reminders (keep sounding alarm at intervals until I clear it)
- Snooze calendar reminders

Also it seems like I can write off a common My Documents folder, attaching files from within Mail, saving files from Safari, or persistent notifications on the lock screen in this OS release. Bummer. Everything else is great of course. But there are still a few things I do with Jailbreak apps that I'll have a hard time letting go of (Intelliscreen and iFile in particular).

I think that's been there since 2.0. You can get it by using the iPhone Configuration Utility and make a profile that includes the use of a letter password or a passcode with more then 4 numbers.

Like others said, you can do this with the iPhone Configuration Utility. Pretty good application in my opinion. I wonder when they are going to use Bing as their default search engine.
This isn't the hacks section.
The only people that need a passcode for their iPhone are the people with something to hide.
You should work for GWB and defend the patriot act.

Ohhhh man that mirrored dock is such a huge improvement.

I like the little drop shadows for the app icons, too. Helps them stand out a bit on the background.

*snip*

WHY, oh why do they keep changing these? It wouldn't be an issue if they improved the icons, but they look horrible! The notes, voice memos, and calculator icons are the worst offenders. It makes sense that Apple probably wanted them to look better on a wallpaper, but to be honest the OS 2 icons were perfectly fine. If anything they just needed a bit of a drop shadow. Not to mention that droplet wallpaper might be one of the ugliest things I've ever seen. I wouldn't want to advertise my product with something so awful looking. Not to mention, the dock is way too transparent. More OS X, less iPad, please.

Actually, the UI in OS 4 is just bad in general. Why don't the folders look like folders? Why does the multitasking tray pop up from the bottom like that? Why does the folder text box look different from the system ones?

Sorry for that rant. Apple just made some... questionable design choices.

Can SMS notification sounds be changed yet, or is Apple still being outdone by 5 year old flip-phones?

I only see that the calculator got changed. Am I missing the rest?

I think they're thinking the icons got tweaked because of the background. The background is making the shades of the icons look slightly different. Otherwise I see no differences.

trajen, you can't be older than 19 or 20. Stop thread crapping and let the devs give us something to look forward to.

Hahaha! Have fun typing in ***************** every time you want to check a text message.

I don't think being clumsy has anything to do with being mugged

OMG give it up you guys. I don't live in a high-crime city.

Let me have the opinion that passcodes are lame and you can keep your excuses for why they are so amazeballs.

They tweaked the colour, gloss, and little details, that make the icons look clearer. Look at the speech bubble in Messages, the gears in Settings, the clouds in Mail, the TV in YouTube, etc. They even tweaked the pin and its shadow in Maps and the ring in the centre of the Clock app!

PS. This post kind of makes me feel like TheSpaz.

what if you have mysophobia (germaphobia in layman's terms) and you don't know how clean your friends' hands are?
what if you don't want someone to use ur phone or texts without your permission?
what if you just don't like people messing with your stuff?

sounds like you need better friends!
