Don't panic on that one. It's hardly rained in London all week, so the trees in Regent's Park will soak that up pretty quickly. The Evening Standard & ITV websites are still showing no rain :)

The BBC is now denying it ever mentioned rain...

So the BBC put a spin on it to make things look worse than they really are? Don't tell me all those politicians have actually been telling the truth all these years... :(

That's from the 'overall' weather for the day (5-day forecast page) but if you look at 24hrs they're predicting a little rain for the morning. Let's hope they've got it wrong! Also they're suggesting 19C. Mind you, they say 22C for today and it's 25 where I am...

You see, I just can't decide if it's boots or sandals weather... :p

I just stuck in the postcode of the Marylebone Waitrose (because it is the nearest place to the park I could find the postcode of) and got exactly the same as you did - rain in the morning. :(

They have been known to be wrong though, so I'm readying the shorts & flip-flops just in case. :)

Anyone want to pay for a transatlantic flight?:D

That's okay, I'm having my OWN picnic! In South Georgia. The nexus of technological.... nothingness. And the KKK. Wait, that's Alabama.

Yes, we can trade!

He pays for my flight, and I get his G5 Quad! Sounds fair to me.... I made a chart to show it.

Everyone's a winner!

'oh dear' it looks too cool for sandals. So boots it is.

Probably going to be wet too, so you'd better make them water-proof. So PVC boots it is.

Actually it could be very wet, do I hear a flood warning?. So thigh-high PVC boots it is......in red, as a road safety measure.

I do have red boots... but they're not PVC, nor are they thigh-high!

Well they're still predicting that little bit of rain for the morning, but now look overall: w00t!

so when you meet up with a bunch of geeks like this, in a large group. how do the introductions go? i can see if you're meeting one or two people, you probably already know their real names, and maybe have seen pictures, etc...

i think you need dual nametags. one with real name and one with your geek name.

i'd imagine that some people will be obvious... mpw will be the one in the bushes just leering out at all the ladies, etc.

How about....

"Um, my name is Richard..... and I've been addicted to Apple products for two years now"

*Sits down to polite clapping and some patting of the back*

Well, I use my real name on this site so that should make it easy for others! Now if only every one else had been so far sighted :D

doesn't this fact make you nervous that your level of genius will be so far above the rest of the MR mates that you'll be bored to tears at the picnic?
