Nothing to do with yor wonderful red wine eh, Satty?;)

That stuff was lethal. It just went down way too easily. Satty, tell Der Volks back home they harvest one hell of a grape :D

A big thanks to those that put the picnic together, it was nice to meet you all and I had a great time.

I'm sat at Gatwick right now waiting for my flight* home and posting this from the new MacBook I picked up while in London.

The MacBook seems fine but the keyboards difficult to use, there's nothing wrong with it my fingers just seem to be a little 'off' today.

*For those who were there and thinking "Didn't mpw say he was on the early flight out this morning" I'm now trying REALLY hard to stay awake to catch the 4pm flight. I was on the 8am but my watch must have stopped at Pimms-o'clock yesterday and I missed it, opps. Having missed the 8am flight you'd think I'd put more effort in, but sadly no. I woke up realised the 8am was a lost cause fired up the new MB and booked the mid-day flight. Then I thought, wrongly as it turned out, that 5mins more in bed would be a good idea:eek: opps. Still best £600 I've ever spent!!

Yeah... there was a slight mistake in one of the later jugs of Pimms when I  poured in a bottle of lemonade not realising that it was actually tequila and lemonade. Oh dear! That's when things got messy...

Ahh.... so that's what happened!

The magic ever-refilling pimms jug got spiked! :D

(ooo.... just been told that the council rubbish dump opposite my work has burst into flames again. Last time that happened, the office was closed the next day. Bless you, you crazy arsonists!)

Sounds like you've got a lot to answer for.;)

Mistake? No... definitely the best drink of the day;)

Nope... but since we know that she got home OK and her profile says that she's been on MR briefly today, I suspect that she's fine... but a little fragile as most of us were today!

Does the iPod Hi-Fi have a "whisper-quiet, hangover-soothing" button?

If not, why not!

I squarely blame BV for my need to buy an iPod Hi-fi now....... that and my shocking weak will!

Awesome chilled out summer mix by the way BV - you'll have to send me the playlist sometime.

Ahhh looks like you guys had a lovely time! Wish I paid more attention to these boards the last coupla weeks.... Having installed that blessed Win...dohs.... on my iMac i've been spending too much of my free time playing Black and White 2. Would've been great to finally meet you all!!

Perhaps I would've been a tad young for the group though, at just 20 years old I'm a meer wippersnapper =P

(no offence intended to you lovely picniccers :) )

Some of us may be as old as the hills, but you'd have been practically middle-aged compared to others.

Not wanting to sound sappy or anything, but the unfolding of this special event, the initial sprinkling of quality pictures followed quickly by their discreet withdrawal due to deference and courtesy toward group conscience, the individual telling of episodes left to the imagination and the unquestionably good looking group of MR hearties who showed up, have genuinely endeared you lot to us outsiders.

It isn't envy for not having been able nor invited to have been there that I feel, but rather admiration for a community who has had somewhat of a bonding experience and, but for the exception of Hector, escaped unscathed. (That assumes DCV was able to help BV to a cab, unmolested.)

I've pictured Applespider being hoisted by whomever over closed, park gates in twilight, members missing returning flights, sleeping stupors through tube stops, inflated bananas turned in to 'tars and, and an apparent abundance of the "good stuff" ravenously consumed and, after having bid your farewells at the scene of the creme, you all then demonstrated concern for the well being of the individual with following up on how everyone is fairing.

Please don't take this in any way as patronizing, but the read has been hilarious and probably only half as fascinating as the real time event. Thanks for sharing your day and, as a result, endearing us to each of you in a new way. You Brits and Norwegians most definitely rock!

That's very kind of you to say!

It's not all that often that I've met so many nice people all in one go! There's that magical boozy solidarity too :)

In a parallel universe, parallel AppleSpider is still atop those railings, surrounded by firefighters wielding a set of the 'jaws-of-life'.

Hmm. I have a feeling she might've preferred that.... :D

Freakin' Brits, having all the fun. :p

It'd be great to show up to one of those events, but unfortunately I'm about halfway around the world. Oh, well.

BTW: I like that Mac logo a lot. Kind of cool to see it there with people hanging out...

mine too, i spent an age looking for compatible shoes to my old D3's (big weird ass osiris shows) and couldn't find anything, new vans seem to of changed their shape and i could never fit any osiris shoe other than D3's same story with etnies, and i found those and they kick so much ass i bought three pairs, two of which are still pristeen, i have size 12 1/2 feet 13 and 12 are horrible to wear unless it's a small 13 or a big 12 and they were big 12's.

haha yeah the D3s really are an eyesore nowadays.

I have quite a few pairs of Accels actually.

Right now.... I only have 4 but in total I've had 9 pairs.

blimey, my D3's did not look too bad, all black not the garish yellow/black or red/black ones, they are comfy as hell though and a wonder the skate with.

You had one of the best colourways then!

Yeah they were awesome in their day but once the style of shoes became more simple the D3 really became "dated." Also, they certainly were good to skate in in terms of the fact that those shoes were tanks! 'Course I prefer a simple shoe with more feel (hence the Accels).

I guess we should stop this OT conversation though....

:D
