Jessica Lares said:Your Apple Stores sound very bad compared to mine! They give you balls to sit on, ask if you need anything, and help as much as they can. There are about 10 of them all at once at my store though.
I don't think any of us will be able to do activation in the store. Maybe like New York, and the coast, but once it gets to the CST time, AT&T will be overwhelmed completely. I mean, I tried to make a pre-order and couldn't get to the name/address information screen - it was 6/7AM my time (I'm in Dallas). When I pre-ordered at the store at 8PM, it was still VERY sluggish, but I got my confirmation e-mail.
The problem is that when Apple used to stream their keynotes online, it would overwhelm the servers. People were thinking that after the iPhone and iPod Touch and the new Nano that they would come up with something so much better, but they didn't. So, they didn't recoup from that surge of traffic. That is my reasoning behind no more webcasts. I don't think they were expecting so many people to seek out illegal streams of the last WWDC, nor do I think they expected a HUGE demand for a product that only has new additions and pretty much functions like the last three models. The iPad sales were a good number, but I doubt they thought iPhone 4 would match it.
Is your store always packed when you go there? A year or so ago mine used to have down times that a person could get some more personal assistance if try needed it. I used to be able to walk in and talk to a genius, now I have to make an appointment for the next day. I guess apple needs to expand it's infrastructure to match it's growing customer base. We only have one store here and it might be time for two.
