You will never be allowed to eat lunch at the COOL table now. It's all over for you.

As someone who has had a few blackberries since 2010, I've never gotten anything other than "Oh cool, I had no idea they still made those." from some nosey strangers in public and 99% of people don't care.

Did you quote the correct post? I have no idea what you are referencing....
I'm not sure. I'm on a slow connection so it's painful scrolling. I was referencing the post with the link to the tweets from people hating on people who text outside of imessage. Sorry if I referenced the wrong post somehow.

The fact is that in North America, depending on your social circles, it *could*. If group chats happen in your circles on iMessage, you're out of the loop. If that's the case, have fun trying to convince a group of people to switch to whatever app you offer as an alternative. Half of my group chats are iMessage, the other half Facebook Messenger.

I've never participated in a group text in my life...
Approx 50% of my friends have iPhones and the rest Android. I communicate using SMS, Whatsapp, FB Messenger, voice calls and email. If someone wants to get hold of me they have a plethora of options. Never had a problem. I do however appreciate that SMS isn't included in American carrier plans (I remember reading that) and that for some reason nobody can be bothered with Whatsapp in the US.

WhatsApp didn't have a desktop client until recently and a significant number of iPhone users in America also owns macs and other Apple devices. iMessage is just convenient and works seamlessly across all the devices.
