I'm not sure if they feel there is a need for a new AppleTV since theirs is pretty much 4K / HDR good to go. That said it is entirely possible we see a new AppleTV launch THIS WEEK as part of the "week of new products" that Apple seems to have going to help hype the launch of AppleTV+. *IF* they launch a new AppleTV it will be a high end one, they pretty much signaled they don't want to play in the $50 stick market last week when they launched the AppleTV app for Amazon Firestick.
Fair point, it’ll just be a wounder to buy now seeing as there’s one on the horizon. Even if there’s a new high end one, it’s worth waiting for to weigh up the options.

I just don’t understand why they haven’t announced it already with ATV+ going to be out in 3 days.

Personally I think AirPods with noise cancellation is a bigger deal than a 16" MacBook Pro.

I wonder why they didn't talk about AirPods during the iPhone event, the product was almost ready as they're shipping tomorrow, it wasn't like AirPower. I can see why they released them now, since they make for a perfect Christmas gift.
I don't think they'll have an even just to talk about the new MBP, they may have a press event to showcase the new hardware but there is no need for a live keynote.

Was planning on the new laptop and after them bricking 9 of my HomePods yesterday I think I've lost my appetite for anything more from Apple given their handling of the matter. Learned a lot about apple yesterday. None of it positive.

No keynote would be kinda disappointing. But i guess it would be a rather short keynote if they don't have more to show than "smaller bezel, bigger screen, new keyboard"

+ updated iPad Pro would make it worthwhile. Maybe after earnings with immediate availability.

They were probably hoping to sell some more of their old AirPod inventory with the new iPhones, before announcing the new ones :p

You do realise that the 16” will be the exact same size as the current 15” with reduced bezels

The announcement of a new 16-inch MacBook Pro brings me two concerns (apart from the price, which may be sky-high):

1. Apple may not willing to make the footprint of the large MacBook Pro any smaller. A laptop benefits from being thin and light, and the footprint of the current 15-inch MacBook Pro is perhaps the smallest Apple could do with a 16-inch model. And it could certainly benefit from being a little bit lighter.

2. A larger screen with a higher resolution will probably mean less battery life. Apple may put more battery inside the laptop, but that would mean making it heavier, which is also a concern.

Apart from this, the unannounced laptop seems to be a powerhouse and the best one yet. At least in our minds, given that everything so far is pure speculation.

I disagree. The new 16” MBP with the new keyboard and reduced bezels is ten times more exciting to me and would be a way bigger deal than the new AirPods Pro imo.

It depends.

A MacBook Pro is a larger piece of hardware, much more expensive, and which has far more features than the AirPods Pro. However, it is also supposed to be a very high-end device, which will only appeal to a small group of consumers (which will find it very exciting). For most people, it will be a curiosity and a showcase of Apple's technology (which could alone justify an event). The AirPods Pro will probably find a much larger audience.

What exactly did you learn? That companies are not perfect? Just be happy that they will fix them for free. Also, there could have been way worse problems than bricked speakers.
Like imagine if they released a phone that was recalled for exploding, then recalled again?
Or announced a speaker in August 2018, and it's still not available.
Or a folding phone that was delayed for 6 months, and still breaks at the scratch of a finger nail.
And don't get me started on the garbage that Google has been putting out. A 700$ Chromebook? At least when Apple charges more than they should, you still get a full operating system, not just Google Chrome with some crappy Android apps.

Also, random question, but why in the world do you need 9 HomePods?

MacBook Pro must have an event if it’s such a big change it can’t just have a website refresh, I think 2020
