Found this quite interesting too. An aluminum Mac Mini? or is it another Big Idea from Apple's site?

I'll look into it, but I'm pretty sure it was a 3rd party product posted on Macrumors a while ago that was meant to look like a G5. A hard drive maybe?! But I'm almost positive I've seen it before, maybe someone else remembers.

EDIT: Arn beat me to it.

I've seen something similar with the small PowerMacs, there's a way to see if something been photoshopped, 1 sec...

EDIT: Dang, I can't figure it out.

I'm finding this picture VERY interesting... an Mac mini Pro?

An Intel PowerMac?

The new Mini Mac?

OR....

...........is it just photoshopped?

YOU GOT IT !

...i say that's the new mini mac...

but it doesn't make sense if it's going to fit in the livingroom...

bah, considering the slogan "(welcome to t) he family", it's probably a new product allright; who would buy a mini pro though ?

EDIT - ahh, maybe a RAID drive then...

Hoax photos and everything! It's JUST how Expo Eve should be :)

And they say tradition is dead!

Bloody hell!!

14 hours to go and some servers are already slowing down!!!

4am is a long, long way away yet....

Has anyone noticed that the rumor mill has been light on this year? Has Apple been extra careful with leaks this time that obviously fake photos are the only thing we have? Not that I care, I'd rather wait for the SteveNote(TM). :p

I just wish it was streamed...

Hey, Chundles mate,

Are you staying up for it? Not that I could be bothered without it live streamed but I guess we can get it pretty soon afterward?

ATI Mobility Radeon X1800 Doesn't Exist (Yet)

There is no ATI Mobility Radeon X1800... The fastest, thin-n-light mobile graphics cards include NVIDIA GeForce Go7600 and ATI Mobility Radeon X1600.

Those rumors are some serious b.s. What about the new intel PowerBooks? Nothing mentioned about them at all in the "rumor roundup". Also, there is no way in h3ll we'll see a Core Duo in the Mac Mini. You people are out of your minds if you think that the Core Duo will find it's way into the Mini in any form. The mini is an entry level machine, and it won't get professional grade components. Frankly, I don't see the Core Duo finding it's way into any platform other then PowerBook. Just stop and look at all of the Core Duo PC notebooks announced last week at CES. ALL of them are PROFESSIONAL grade notebooks.

Agreed. iBooks + Mac Minis get single core; PB's get Core Duos. It shouldn't be that difficult to understand why...

------

I'll be leaving class around 12:15 PM (that's 9:15 AM PT) and headed straight for the computer lab. I want an Intel PB so much! I have to be one of the nerdiest girls I know...:(

As we get closer to 12 hours, we all get quieter, but tomorrow after the stevenote (i like that) we will all start wishing that they came out with what we wanted, when they only come out with an intel powerbook M1, an intel mac mini, a new ipod shuffle, AND a new apple branded CELL PHONE.

Maybe, it's pretty early though. Heading to the pub soon so depends on how much I drink. there would be two outcomes:

1. I pass out and sleep in till 11am then race downtown with a rotten hangover to the net café to watch the stream whilst the US are slowly heading off to bed.

2. I stay up but my posts contain a fair proportion of gibberish and dodgy photoshops of products ( a la the BoonPod).

Meanwhile I have the third season of the Micallef P(r)ogram(me) to watch. Julie Anthony is currently standing on a podium with the Australian flag singing "Computer Games" whilst a Jack Russel terrier tows a small plastic wheelbarrow with an orange in the back.

God Micallef is funny.

Hehe... it's like Christmas Eve for kids except for Mac people. And we have to wait until AFTER breakfast.

Until just before lunch.

Damned time zones!

Over on some other rumour sites, peeps are saying that because iBooks, powerBooks are at 24 hour availability this indicates a lack of updates.

LUXURY!!

Oh what I'd give to have to wait till just before lunch. Here in the antipodes we're looking at 3am/4am on the eastern seaboard.

It's actually well past the Keynote time now, nearly 2pm on Tuesday the 10th.

What about this ???

http://www.tivoblog.com/archives/2006/01/07/tivotogo-for-the-mac-is-for-real/

is the MediaHub ( aka ) MacMini rebumped real ???
With or without plasmas ???

I was just about to post this.... by far the most interesting thing I have seen. Hasn't Apple been quasi-partnered with TiVo for a while with all of the remote viewing of photos and broadcasting of video to series 2 machines? Maybe partnered isn't the word but definitely a relationship.

It makes perfect sense to me that a media-centric mac (be it built-in to a screen or not) would benefit greatly from something like TiVo to Go. Now you can choose what programs you want to watch, TiVo them, then plugin your iPod with video and take them with you wherever you go.

I do see a problem with cannibalising their video store sales... but why hasn't apple rebranded the store to "video" instead of "music store" yet? Maybe they are having a trouble getting any the Networks to fully commit to the platform and will just bypass them altogether in order to drive sales of hardware. Besides it really is only a matter of time before the general public figures out how easy it is to record video from your television and stop paying for it.

I know it's kind of a longshot... but just a different view on things.

Got my Palm TX in my hand, and I'm ready for school tomorrow. I'll be hopping on the WiFi router during some "bathroom breaks" near the media center at school. Make a few stops by engadget, MacCentral, and of course MacRumors for any late-breaking news. :D

Really excited about this MWSF because I need a new computer out of this one.

I somehow have this gut feeling the plasma TV rumors will materialize. I just hope I'm wrong. Seems a little awkward, but maybe Steve will fill in the holes.

Any rumors on Mac Mini and iBook pricing? All of these Yonah processors are not looking cheap whatsoever. I'll be disappointed if we don't see any sub-$500 Mac Mini and sub-$1000 iBook. I'd hope Apple figures out a way to keep prices low. My number one hope is a decent GPU to run CoreImage and CoreVideo for a few years into the future, but with the PC Yonahs not looking cheap, I just don't know.

On the theme of trying to guess what Apple are doing according to their competitors and the rumours of a new "content delivery system" and iDisk changes, has anyone noticed that Google Video suddenly has (iPod compatible) downloads for all its content?
WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? SERIOUSLY?!?!?!?!?! Awesome. :)
