Hmm I just skipped 5 pages of people's opinions (which i plan on reading later, [oh i just love reading there opinions]) but i bet the 2.8 was ment to be 1 dual core yonha (sp?) with 1.8 Ghz core. Oh I want wait! Im itchin!

Oh brother. Everybody has their own little ideas as to what will be unveiled tomorrow, and somehow tomorrow evening everybody will be claiming that they were right. Hilarious :D :p

Everybody talks about Intel on PowerBook, what about one last version of PowerBook using PowerPC dual core G4, I think Freescale released that chips several months ago, isn't?

Yes.... TWO chips fighting for bandwidth on a 167MHz bus. lol
I'm not making fun of you, Arturo, just the G4 and its lousy future.

there will not be any powerbook updates... look at apple's website... they still have an ad for the New Powerbooks....

Maybe that's the reasoning they want you to use. It's a trick!

For as far i remember the powerbook ad was not on the site the last few months, Apple is re-advertising it. To warn us not to get our hopes up high or a trick, a decoy? ;)

Good point, though they did update the TiBook 2 months after a previous update a while back, so it's possible. I mean, who would have thought they'd do a major rev to the imac G5 so soon after the last update, so it's possible I guess.

They could put the (crap) screens from the current ones into the new PB's and recycle some components.. there's no telling how many PB's they've actually built, and there will be a need for legacy machines (like the G4 towers they kept around that booted OS 9 native for a couple years.
They're already taking a bath on the laptops they have now, so why not just go with the big update and write off the more than half decade of moto's disinterest.

It's going to be interesting.

I also think it's possible, though unlikely, that they could release a 12" Powerbook with the Intel chip. After all, it was neglected. I'd consider one.

come on there must be a photo or something of ilife 06 out there already !

google is not my friend when i'm searching on the eve of macworld

:D

I am hoping for some faster intel mac mini, which is comparable to iMac G5, so that I can buy one right now. I already waited long enough to upgrade my iMac. I do not like to wait till June to buy the intel iMac.

Yes... my credit card is waiting & willing ;)

I bought a mac mini for my entertainment center in November... sold it on Sunday (Jan 8th) with big hopes for Tuesday's announcement.

C'mon Steve... my credit card is ready, too.

Will MRChat be online?

Poor, poor diddums.

It will be 4am on the 11th here when the Keynote starts. Only people worse off are the Kiwis although it might even be daylight over there on the 11th when this thing kicks off.

It's gonna be a long, long, long day.....

I'm building a list of sites that are offering MacWorld coverage .. please add your suggestions:

www.ipod-tracker.com

Looking forward to tomorrow!

Tip would be look for european sites. During the autumn special iPod events there was no wifi at the actual event, however, at the BBC in London where the event was streamed to European press members, there was access to the internet.

From what I can tell keynote is again begin streamed to the BBC in London for European press. So my bet would be they will offer online coverage.

Speaking of rumors, who has pics of the convention center? There are usually pics of hidden banners and covered merchandise. Come on people! We need the inside scoop here.

Lol, not just earth.. the company that is known for delivering less for more suddenly doing the reverse?!

That's new :)

What company are you talking about here? The iPods have gone up in price only one time, and yet the feature set is huge compared to the original. The iMac's have dropped in price overall, and yet the features are again improved. iBooks, PowerBooks, PowerMacs, ditto.

When has Apple ever dropped features and added prices?
